I actually played football in highschool. Was a linebacker and a Packers fan when Gilbert Brown, Reggie White, and Favre ran the show. but havent kept up with it. And im Mexican American. Not just mexican. I was born in San Antonio, home of the Spurs!

Gilbert Brown, I haven't heard that name in ages. I lived in Northeast Wisconsin at that time and Burger King offered the "Gilbert Burger" which was a 1 lb triple whopper in his honor.

Lol that's a huge burger. Imagine one of those two coming at you. If it wasnt Reggie White it was Gilbert Brown. Two huge monsters tackling you. Lol. Dive

Last nights thrashing just proves that even though you may want to impose yourself on your opponent, they may just be better than you. When that is the case...you have to show more heart, suck it up, and change tactics.

I dare say Argentina will be reminded of what happened in 1995...if they needed it. They are also hungry to win something. Not a good combination. We will need to be smarter with the ball than we have been and even more clinical with our finishing to get a result...but I believe that it is possible.

I'm a Bear fan thanks for making me relive the nightmarish 90's when Favre and Fat Gilbert ate us for lunch. The guy I always hated was Leroy Butler the safety, the celebratory bastard.

So I was looking at the difference in Copa vs Euros. I think its very clear that the Copa has been a much more enjoyable, and successful tourney. They style of play in the Copa has been head and shoulders above the 0-0 drawfest going on in France. Some of the numbers.

Assuming near sell outs in 3 remaining matches (I dont include 3rd place matches in anything) the Copa will have an average attendance of ~46,800 people. Euros is currently averaging 46,400 people. They still have knockout rounds but I think they are going to have some low attendance final group stage matches and 1st knockout rounds so I doubt it gets to 50k.

Scoring- Copa is averaging 3 goals per game with only 3 0-0 draws.
Euros are averaging 1.8 goals per game and already has 3 0-0 draws with 10 more group stage games before the even more defensive knockout matches (another 15 matches).

Euro's have more star power and name recognition, but by far the better product has been Copa

Well the teams in the Euros know each other for the most part so it is only natural they would be tight affairs. The Copa is just the opposite...little to no familiarity so it is more free flowing.

#51! Right? My memory is foggy. I was going from middle school to high school. Then the Freeman receiver. Bennet the rb. I cant really remember a lot just main players. Even from other teams. The bus Jerome Betis and Kordell Stewart Steelers. Terrell Davis from Broncos. I guess just those. Gonzalo Pineda is an idiot. Anx mexican fans too. They're so stubborn and annoying. Professional analysts say USA has been better. For years. And they cant see it. Cant admit it. Like i am going to believe butt hurt casual fans over Mexican analysts. Sports people. They really get under my skin. And sure, maybe the generational change didn't come right away, and i even stated that but it's coming. Brooks, Yedlin, kitchen, Pulisic, and Altidore is still "young." Bobby, Zardes, Nagbe. Horvath. That's 9 on this roster and others that could have been there. He is just bitter and upset.

I've seen this a few times and I really can't understand how this is a story. Why would anybody care what Pineda has to say? He played two ok but fairly uneventful seasons in Seattle and he's now an expert on US soccer?

I find the whole thing strange, somebody should go find Kerry Zavagnin and see if he has any trolling comments about the state of the Mexican National team.

My goodness. This Chile/Argentina final is looking like it could be a classic. Both are flying high right now, and Argentina are gonna be hungry for redemption.

Mexico didn't knee jerk this time and kept Osorio:

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
