Sitting on a yellow probably does not want him to pick up a second as well. Games like this are better for a 20 year old centerback, you can see how well he learns the game the next time out. If he is making the same mistakes then that is an issue, but if he is learning from his mistakes he will be more than fine. Do not forget this is only his second game at club level since November, the rust showed.

Looks like Miazga will, at the very least, get loaned out...the only minutes he has gotten this preseason was ina closed door scrimmage against a local team in Austria.

Interesting quote from a Q&A session in Minneapolis involving Miazga, one other player, and Director of Football Michael Emenola. According to Emenola:

"We don't just sign players because of their passports, we sign them because of what we think they can bring to the club and the talent they have,' the technical director explained. ‘Matt is a young player we had followed for a while and were in competition with some elite clubs from Germany."

So it may be that Miazga goes on loan in Germany...maybe with an eye for a permanent move.

Rumor making the rounds on the Chelsea chat page is that Miazga will go on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt.

It's been speculated in Bild too, so it looks like it has legs. Apparently they are so thin at CB they were playing Chandler there. Looks like a good move to start with. If he can hold his own early he should get a lot of minutes.

Eintracht has denied the rumors. Maybe it still happens but by no means a sure thing.

Maybe. At any rate Miazga was not present Tuesday at the open training for the first team...so unless he was ill or training with the developmental squad something seems to be happening.

They are reporting Miazga has several options in Europe and he, his agent, and Chelsea front office are determining the best course of action for him. Hopefully its resolved by saturday so he can start getting acclimated for the last week before the season begins (or in lower leagues be on the bench for this weekend to watch the game and then start practicing next week)

@msantoine- see I told you they would do what's in his, and clubs best interests. I'm no Chelsea supporter but for example Kalas and Christensen both went to good places for their development last year. Miazga will go where he is wanted and needed; but also it will be made clear that the club getting Miazga is to play him. And to be honest who wouldn't put a tall, fast, smart, and technical defender on the field?? He may be able to do better than Frankfurt although it would then seem like every German league game would have minimum 1, more likely 2 Americans.

Frankfurt took Jamaicas Michael Hector on loan at CB from Chelsea, so we will see where Miazga goes...

Rumors are Miazga decided against Frankfurt as there were at least two offers from Premier League clubs on the table. But again, these are rumors.

It may just be that they are waiting until they bring in another defender or two before allowing Miazga to go on loan.

Offered to Sunderland. Seems like same situation as last for yedlin. Will get accustomed to PL level if he break in.
Might as well bring both of them if sunderland wants to be the choice team from US fans lol

Sunderland just sent out one of their young CBs to Watford so seems like Sunderland has opened up a spot for him if the logistics/finances work out.

Interesting situation at Sunderland. The top 2 CD's are both rumored to be sold (Kone has handed in a transfer request and looks likely to go to Everton and Kaboul is wanted by Watford).

If this happens he will be competing with Papy Djabil (who Chelsea just sold to Sunderland) and loanee Paddy McNair from Man Untd.

As far as the finances go, Chelsea have so many players to loan out over the next two weeks they will make every effort to make the move happen.
