Chinese Super league effect exposing cheap MLS owners and the mickey mouse stadiums they keep building!

Garbers latest dumb proposal of a small SSS stadium in St Louis instead of bringing in an owner to build a 40,000 version of the water front NFL Rams proposal!

Garber out !

I'd classify it more as Chinese Super League drastically overpaying for players because no-one wants to live in China. China is doing the same thing that Qatar has been doing...shelling out tons of money in order to get players to move to these crappy leagues.

Have you ever been to China (or Qatar for that matter)? I was just in China and my American friends living there like it just fine and have requested to go back in a future foreign service tour in fact.

They are living there because the money is good. Haven't been to Qatar or China but I have been to UAE or Korea and if I was from a Western country, I would not want to move there for good especially the Middle East.

Also, as I joke with them, probably because they're spies, including and especially their toddler.

Think it depends where you live in china or in any other countries? There are bad places and good places to live
I've visited china and there are some nice areas to live especially for expats

I have actually, and did not care for either. Outside of the western/central european nations I probably enjoyed/liked Japan the most.

SSFC better buy a replacement ASAP. Morris is not the immediate answer.

Very true. I was in Beijing and Urumqi and it was like being in different countries in some respects. To each their own was my overall point, saying no one wants to live in a huge and diverse country is a bit much (same goes for this country). Depends on what you value.

I find funny people are freaking out over the CSL since they bought martins. Then again its typical in the USA soccer bubble.

They sold Martins for peanuts. He is worth more than 3 million. SSFC sold their soul. With teams so hungry to buy quality players Shanghai got a steal and are probably laughing at how MLS does business. If I was MLS and SSFC I would have asked for a crazy high price like 15-20 million and settled for something around 8-10 million minimum for him.

Martins was a hell of a player for the Sounders and his production will be tough to replicate but this should mean Dempsey and Morris paired up top and Valdez behind them. At least that's what I hope we'll see and if that's the case we couldn't ask for more from the MNT perspective.

3 million is a stupid deal from sounders. Should have gotten at least 8 mil. What a joke from sounders if that the case.

Dude I highly doubt Seattle would have got more for a 31 year old Martins.

Martins is also injury prone and at 31 it's only going to get worse in that regard.

I think it's good business. Frees up more minutes for Morris and now the Sounders can seek out a DP for either CM or on the wing which are both areas of need for the Sounders.

I was wondering why Martins hasn't really been apart of preseason.

Sounders have 3 young FWDs: Morris, Jones, and Mansaray. And all can play multiple attacking
Positions.

Dempsey, Morris, Valdes, Jones, Mansaray. That's a good group of FWDS.

I'll miss Martins, but I think he was looking to leave anyway in this off season.

Woow stupid from the Sounders they easily could of gotten 10 mil. They are highly overpaying players should of taken advantage of it. Yes china are laughing at MLS right now. What a dumb move from Seattle and mls.
