Galaxy just sold Juninho to Liga MX side, Tijuana. What do you think of MLS selling so many of their players to the rival?

Yes, he played with RSL as a Mexican youth international then went to Liga MX and became a full Mexican national team member.

Big lost for galaxy would of rather let go of gerrard. But looks like a big signing is coming. And no i hope they don't get cole he is done like gerrard. Maybe like a thiago silva or Robben type of player.

I could care less, I don't watch that s**t. Hoping it serves as a reminder for MLS to stop being so cheap with a salary cap and stop building mickey mouse stadiums!

I think people have to chill out and wait to see what Galaxy does. Highly doubt they wont have replacement in place. Just like any signing its a risk of course

Personally I think every team has to decide what is best to run their club. If they think selling players to liga mx for the highest possible profit and then making moves for other players will help them then more power to them. If they are going to make these moves it better not be to get ashley cole because number 1 Robbie Rogers is a pretty good LB in mls. Number 2 they should be getting a cb or cdm instead of upgrading the positions and not buying the shiny new toy who made it clear he sees mls as a retirement league instead. Of course they could get other players but Juninho was pretty good the past couple years when paired with Marcelo Sarvas. If the galaxy get Cole they might as well just call themselves the galaticos. All flash and not enough workmen to win a title.

Honestly I am surprised that it has taken Liga MX this long to turn to MLS for talent in any significant capacity. They have bigger budgets than MLS clubs and can offer non-DP or low end DP level talent more attractive contracts.

I always thought MLS would be best representing itself as a feeder league but when I thought I thought to the big leagues like Germany, Spain, England, Italy, France...not Liga MX, if MLS and USMNT wants to label themselves 'CONCACAF's best' then you cannot sell your best or players that have talent to your rival.

I agree Liga MX has more money but that is MLS fault, Garber has yet to take the leash of the league and is still babying it. MLS is easily more desirable than Liga MX, I will admit the talent in Liga MX is a lot better. Most MLS teams have 2-3 great players, 4-5 pretty good players and 6-7 mediocre players and the rest should find another job. The depth in talent just isn't there. Liga MX has the depth and that shows with teams playing their 2nd team in CONCACAF CL and still winning it.

MLS must raise the salary cap and not allow their players to go to the rivals.

Salary cap will go up one day. What we need to do is focus our attention at academies. We have yet to be as good at is as a league like RSL, Dallas or the Jersey Red Bulls. Money doesnt fix everything especially in Champions league thats a BS excuse from us and its tiring (in addition to calender but thats a different topic). Compare leagues in top 4. Who has a bunch of money? EPL clearly. Yet who has better team performances in the CL? Germany, Spain. Not talking about Bayern, Barcelona or Real Madrid either. Talking about Atletico Madrid, BVB, Sevilla, Magala, Schalke 04. Where talking about a rigorous competition in comparison to our champion league which is just Mexico and USA. This are teams that come nowhere near RM, Barcelona, Man City, PSG money. So after a while they lose their best players like Lewandoski, Costa, Aguero, Torres (back in the day), Griezman, Gotze, Isco etc. Yet they manage to replace or produce the next player. I dont know how Atletico does it but they just keep pumping out players, kinda the way RSL did it until this season. Not a shock RSL was the closest team to CCL. BVB developed Aubamayang into the player he is today. MLS teams need to learn how to do this. Produce more castillos, dempseys, Donovans, Howard level players at a more consistent level and higher level. The more talent we can produce the more player we can get to come here from mexico or south america that are at an excellent level. At the some point the cap will be much much bigger than mexicos but till then we need to focus on making more talent.

The final stretch of the English league season is upon us, with several Americans on the verge of relegation with their teams.
