FC Dallas traded Dan Kennedy to the Galaxy. Makes sense, Kennedy is a starting caliber GK that lost his spot to Gonzalez.

Glad we freed up the cap space but getting him for 2 non-1st round draft picks seems like the deal of the century for LA...unless they make a bigger move for a better keeper, you can bet that Kennedy walks in the starter and probably will keep it all year if he can stay healthy.

I would still take Jones on the Fire if he's interested. He and Polster would be a nice combination and a good player for young Matt to emulate. Also has been said the Fire are going for former Timbers captain Will Johnson, himself a former Fire youth player/ young pro who left town under very disconcerting circumstances all those years ago. Either way some experience around all the young guys.

Not sure if anyone saw this but there are starting to pick up some Falcao to MLS rumors. Chelsea don't want him anymore this year, Monaco wants to unload people since they are out of Europe competition they want to cut back some wages. They cant win French League (PSG is running away with title) and wont be using Falcao anyways. Falcao isnt the same since his injury but I bet he has a huge following if he comes to MLS. Hopefully they can work something out.

It was always too much too soon after his knee injury to expect him to play at a champions league level.

I am puzzled by the Galaxy's signing of Larentowicz. Here's a team that just unloaded two of their core players to free up cap space and then they bring in a 32 year old coming off a $260k contract?

I guess they could be looking at him as a cheaper CB replacement for Omar but that would certainly be music to the ears of every other team. I think Chicago unfairly put Larentowicz in a tough spot by playing him at CB. Sure I can sort of understand why they used him there when I look at their other horrible roster moves particularly in defense but he's a really a DM. I just dont see how he'll fit next to Gerrard as he doesn't have anywhere near the attacking presence that Juninho offered.

Speaking of Juninho, I get that the Galaxy wanted to sell high and a $1.5m transfer fee is a decent return but in a salary cap world Juninho's $350k non-DP salary was a bargain for what he provided. It is difficult to find a replacement of the same caliber for that type of money which should be obvious given that they just blew 3/4s of the savings from Juninho's salary on Larentowicz (assuming Larentowicz makes a similar amount to his previous salary).

I laugh at Omar but come on. I will eat my words if he somehow has a good year, but "big red" larentowicz is finished. Maybe he could play 5-10 games and be serviceable. Arena is a good coach but this is like he is preparing for a shuffleboard tourney.

Mike Magee to the Galaxy? Is he going to be Dan Kennedy's backup?

Magee has had his spell in Chicago ruined by injuries but I'd still definitely give him a shot if I were most teams. Franco Panizo said that SKC and Vancouver were both interested. I can see how it would work in either of those clubs but this makes no sense from the Galaxy.

So they have an attack of Keane, Gio, Zardes, Magee and Lletget with additional options in the likes of Villarreal, Jamieson IV and Gordon. And yet they have no real midfielders besides Gerrard and they've completely given up on Defense.

I guess they could run a lineup like this and just try to win every game 5-4.

--Keane-Magee-
----Gio------
-Lletget--Zardes--
----Gerrard-----
-Rogers-Leonardo-Larentowicz-AJ-
---Kennedy----

As a sub and with other intelligent players he will be very effective in a limited role. Lots of MLS games etc.

I think sub would be a weird role for Magee. His issue is staying consistently healthy, if he's healthy I see him as a starter and possibly still a very good one.

I wish there would be intra-MLS loans. I'd happily take Villarreal on a loan in DC for a season or two.

If healthy I could see him replacing Keane who could miss a substantial part of the season at the Euros. Same with Zardes and copa2016 if he's not sold.

Brad Davis might be 34 years old but I really like the trade for SKC.

Patrick Nyarko traded to DC. More upside than Rolfe who has been a hit in DC since he was traded from Chi to DC.

Since Rolfe was the best player on DC not named Bill, I'd be thrilled if Nyarko was better than him.

I didn't have much of an opinion on Nyarko one way or another but if you like him I will take your word on it.

I meant when he was traded. Rolfe is one of my all time favs by the way. Pure class. If healthy I think Nyarko brings an option on the counter DC has been missing if they want to play that defensive style.
