So the 2015 Nike friendlies are set:

US, Brazil, England, Holland.

Dec 2nd through the 6th.

Most notable is the fact John Hackworth will be coaching the team which pretty much leads me to the conclusion that Richie Williams has gotten the axe.

John Hackworth should not be involved with youth soccer.

Didn't say he should be.

but his U17 teams were better than what we have seen from either Williams and Cabrera. Just saying.

At this moment I would take anyone over Richie Williams. The guy has had 2 cycles and didnt do much with either squads. Looks clueless out there

Nice to see Wiliams gone, but this is the problem with USSF...they bring in Hackworth to fill the void. Just a continuous loop of average US coaches playing musical chairs with the youth coaching positions.

Roster:

GK Budnik, Dos Santos, Garces

Defense: Cornfield -Saunders, Arteaga, Durkin, Lindsey, Mcgann, Perez, Vaughn

Middies: Acosta, Carlton, Ferri, Goslin, Sands, Bazquez, Villegas

FWDs: Weah, Akinola, Sargent, Temple

Players to look for:

Carlton, Weah, Acosta, Villegas, Cornfield-Saunders.

Surprised Zico Bailey wasn't called up. Have been told he is one of the top RB/RW in the country.

This is pretty close to the same roster that won the Delle Nazioni in Itlay back in May against older National teams.

US loses to England 3-2 on a late goal.

The US goalie is very timid with coming off his line to contest crosses, and whoever was wearing 19 is very lazy.

I watched a bit of it and it looked like the US team was quite poor int he first half but came out with a much better second half and played pretty well but yea gave up two very bad goals on crosses where no defender was in sight on the back post... frustrating to give up goals like that, but to give up two is just awful.

England looked pretty good, especially the first 20 mins of the game where the US wasn't ready at all.

CF #9 looked ok for the US and the winger #11 looked interesting. #8 looked a pretty solid CM and scored a great free kick goal. Defense looked quite poor and scared to be honest, constantly backing up and surrendering space.

England #11 looked like the best player on the field to me.

U17's beat Holland 2-1 today.

England beat Brazil 2-0.

Here is the updated standings:

England 2 wins 0 losses

USA 1 win 1 loss

Holland 1 win 1 loss

Brazil 2 losses

U17's can win the tournament with an England loss to Holland and a USA win over Brazil.

This isn't all of the talent the U17's have during this cycle:

Lederman, Paumbaum, Pynadath, Zico Bailey, XuhXuh( John Hilton), and others could all get callups in this cycle.

Nah. I am sure you will overhype this team at some point.

why after all that hype and horrendous performance in Chile.. Don't see how this team can be better. The only thing i took from this past team was that the coaching sucks Period!!!

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
