Who wouldn't want to play in America? It is probably one of the richest teams of the American continents with the majestic Azteca stadium. Landon Donovan lol. I think there was a multimillion dollar sum thrown out for him. Around the 50mil for five seasons or something like that. That's good for MLS in a way that big teams or better leagues want their players.

To be honest I wouldn't mind seeing a clubs with few Americans and more overseas talent because until we are produce more quality players then we should give the best players the job. A lot of these college players are not cutting it and will be obsolete in a few years. It was nice when MLS was developing and needed to fill roster spots but now teams are more established and can handle a higher salary cap. If they choose not to use the salary cap max it is on them.

Producing higher quality and more technical players was the purpose of starting MLS.
With that objective in mind reducing opportunities for American players is not something anyone should consider. Our academy systems has only been in place a few years and we are already seeing some quality players, expect it to start producing a lot of quality players in the coming years.

Surprised no one here is weighing in on the on-again-off-again Trabzonspor situation...

All I know is, I hope the situation is resolved quickly. Best case scenario would have been the $2m/$2m loan, where Trabz would pay $2m upfront and take FC on loan until the end of the year when they'd decide to pay the other $2m to keep him or they'd send him back to Dallas before the start of the 2017 season. It's not ideal for the Dallas playoff run, the rest of the USOC or the CCL that just started, but starting the 2017 season with your best player and a relatively cost-free $2m in the bank would be great.

Short of that, he's obviously ready to move on and we probably won't get a better fee for him than we will right now (though $4m seems low for one of the leagues most valuable players), he should go as soon as possible.

I think that is the real issue. Castillo is entering his prime, with room to grow. He's an attacking talent. And he's South American. Guys like him seem to get bought for 15-20 mil all the time.

I'm utterly shocked that a Turkish team has risen to sign him. I wouldve thought he'd be in Germany or Spain by now. He's ridiculously talented.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
