I know he is affiliated with Portland, but does this guy have offers to go overseas? I would imagine he does as he seems to score or make some good plays in every game(Note: I have never watched him play, just always see his name pop up)

Tough to get excited about U17s. It's way too early to predict whether or not any of these kids will be professionals. They're only around 15-16 at this time.

Players, unless they are dual nationals, can't move overseas before they are 18 anyway. That usually makes MLS the only game in town for teenagers if they want to go pro. Situations like Junior Flores will be rare.

I don't know what Junior will be doing primarily to play soccer between the end of next year's U17 World Cup and his 18th birthday in March of 2014 when he'll go to Dortmund full time.

Right now the three or five big time players for this team seem to be: Junior Flores, Corey Baird, Shaquell Moore, Rubio Rubin, and Wesley Wade.

But yes it's to early to really to predict what will happen to them once they leave Bradenton. Anyways just be excited that they are playing so well at U-17 level so far.

I just hope the U17's do some damage in the WC.

@bshredder- Has Rubin ever gone on any trials over seas that you know of?

Won't it be the D/A with McLean? Or something down in Bradenton?

That's great news imo, glad to see a very interesting young player go to the Dutch league, should be interesting to see where he is in a year or two.

Rubio Rubin scored a goal today for the U-17's in a 2-1 win against Japan. They play Croatia later today.

Rubio Rubin is making the smart move of getting safe playing time, grow as a player, tear up his league, AND THEN move to a bigger league. See Joe Gyau's career.

I think navi makes a good point. I think it's probably better to go to a club where he will get playing time than say a Bundesliga or EPL club. Just a question about the u17s tho...has that Sanora guy been playing with the time. I really liked him but I know he's also eligible for Argentina so I wanted to know where he stands with the US.

Conor O'Brien could finally make his Austrian debut for Wiener Neustadt on Saturday.
