They'll figure it out. Although some on here refuse to concede, MLS keeps getting better and better. On the field and off. If improvements over the next 20 years come at the same pace that they have over the last 20 years MLS will be a top 5 league in 20. Probably unrealistic though given the inevitable diminishing returns, but all is well despite a blip for this MLS Cup.

We don't have any "prolific achievements"?!?! That's adms logic. Who the fuck has "prolific achievements" besides Brazil, Germany, and maybe a couple of other countries?

Obviously you didnt read the whole comment as i posted prolific achievements right after that smh.

'Only beat Ghana' id love most of their players for our squad.

We didn't beat Germany of Portugal? Wow, that's horrible when considering how dominant our players are.

Lost to Belgium... Because we all know Belgium should be beaten by teams such as the usmnt.

Ok this proves your fine with losing....where did the winning mentality go seriously? Maybe thats why we are losing so much. Its time to start believing in our "American" team. Sure these guys are top competition but to act like you are fine being a loser is ridiculous.

This is by far the most attention I have ever gotten on this website. Usually whenever I post something that everyone agrees with I dont see much but when I do something like this everyone wants a piece of me, regardless if it actually relates to anything i said. Dfw proved that when he decided to take a shot at my grammar rather than my opinions.

We have zero achievements because nobody counts gold cups. In the other Hand A rival of us Mexico has achieved great things. And many say we have close the gap or even surpassed them in soccer that's an absolute joke. Every time USA takes a step forward lets not forget all the other good countries also take a step forward so it's a cycle that will continue as long as JK is in charge were gonna be a step behind them.

Since when can you skip the step where your team has to be talented and go straight to expecting wins over Belgium and Germany?

I love the usmnt but I also have a realistic view of our talent. It's not even funny how much we lack basic touch even at the top level in the usa.

Yes but you seem like you dont want to win, your like well we arent good enough and im fine with that versus we arent good enough but I still believe we will win. Im expecting wins because thats what true americans do, win. If you come into a game believeing you dont have a chance, 0% of winning, if you come into a game that you believe you do, then you might.

It doesnt matter about the competition, its about the mentality. Thats what we have lost with Klinsmann

I believe in math, we always have a chance to win every game but it doesn't mean we should expect to beat Germany and skip the entire step of training players that have the ability to do so.

That's on mls, that's on youth coaches, that's on Bradenton. That's on the USA development academy that claims its world class.

When we skip the step to properly train players, we can't expect to expect victory over teams that.

Of course we have a chance, I go into every game hoping we win and know we always have a chance. I'm upset when we lose just like everyone but we aren't doing the prep work and that's our confederation and soccer culture to blame.

There's a logic gap there. Being a fan and wanting the team to do well, and expecting it to win are two different things...

And as for Americans and winning-- that's in things like track and basketball which we are good at and better than most if not all teams going into the competitions. We used to always "win" at war except for the last 60 odd years. I'm not really sure what you are referring to in regards to soccer. We don't always win. We rarely do, and never the whole thing.

Belief is fostered from success, which creates more belief, which helps a person or team succeed. If there is not much to believe in, it's a hollow belief. A very lofty, yet possibly attainable goal would be to make a semifinal at the World Cup. It's going to take hard work and real, not hollow belief to get there.

Lastly congratulations to Caleb porter and his Portland Timbers. Like him or not the guy puts in long hours and has gotten his reward. Same to the fantastic army of timbers supporters, a real credit to MLS.

I know all this and i guess expecting and wanting are two different things but what im trying to get at here is that the "i believe that we will win" mentality is slowly disappearing from the team and from the fans and I believe this is happening because the USSF is changing into a European-American soccer team rather than 100% american. We are adopting European ways and it is effecting the team.

In this way we will always be mediocre. Just look at the difference in fighting mentalities between Wynalda and Moore vs. Bradley and Altidore.

Mexico has achieved great things? I'm sorry when did Mexico make it to the final of a WC? Don't give me youth tournaments. It means nothing. Olympics are a youth tournament as well.
