For sure. He deserves to get that January callup.

From what I understand the January camp will be a mixture of u23 players and young potential USMNT players.

I hope we don't see Bradley, Altidore etc..... It's nonsense for those players to be called in for it.

I typically agree with you 2tone but have to disagree here. I want the u23s there along with fresh faces but having some of the younger mainstays there like Altidore and Bradley is a good thing to set a tone and be a leader for the group.

Having said that, I don't want them getting 90 minutes in whatever games they are playing, that would be my only fear of them being involved in the camp.

I think it would be really fun to have a Jan Camp USA team scrimmage against USA MLS players who didn't get called in haha.

I view Camp Cupcake as the MNT equivalent of the NBDL. Sure fans in NBDL markets might want to see their team play well and win games but the real purpose of NBDL games isn't to build a competitive team but rather to offer a platform for individuals to impress and catch on with an NBA team.

I really don't care how well the Camp Cupcake team looks as a collective, I just want to find a few new guys that we can integrate into the MNT.

For my money, there's no reason to send NBA stars down to the D-League in the same way that we don't need Bradley, Altidore, Besler, etc in January. Players that are already part of the player pool but need a chance to get more minutes should still get called (guys like Hamid).

That's what I want to see but I expect Juergen to call up the best available players like he did last year.

He already stated that he wasn't doing that this time around, but it's Jurgen and we never know how secure his statements are.

Didn't he say that last year too? And then we ended up with a few new faces, a lot of vets and some U23s like Sorto and Bono.

Well done by Valeri. That was a perfectly timed tackle but Clark, sheesh.

I have to catch a flight immediately after this game and I was hoping it wouldn't go into extra time. Portland has done a good job of keeping me on schedule through the first 7 minutes.
