I think its time to take a break of USMNT and Olympics to start discussing what do we expect out this world cup which start in a few days with a group that consists of Nigeria, Chile and Croatia.
What is the scouting report for all 4 teams and what is your expectation of team USA?

-The opening match is going to be a tough one. We know how good Nigeria is at this age level. Their physically might be too much to handle?
-PLaying match against host is always tough and not sure how good they are considering they didnt have to qualify but interesting they didnt win one match in the u17 CONMEBOL tournament and well again not sure about their ability
-Croatia not sure about their team

I would take their performance at that tournament with a grain of salt

oyy. Couldn't string together passes. No shots on goal. No chemistry (even though they've been playing together for the most part for 2 years!). Terrible CB (or CBs). You know, perhaps for the USMNT Mex game, it wasn't clear how much to blame on the players vs. coach, but in this game, I would give 90% of blame on coach Richie Williams. Absolutely terrible. Did he make a deal with the devil? How does he still have this job?

You embarrassing and disappointing. Won't be surprised if we lose all 3 games and score 0 goals.

Well, I actually envision the players coming together and putting on a good performance next game (in spite of the coach). Good thing trusty got a red. Maybe Barbir, DeLaTorre from beginning this upcoming.

When was the last time you said something positive about anything US soccer-related? And actually, just "positive" doesn't quite make my point. You are the most gloom-and-doom person on here.

When was the last time you admitted we have problems with our us soccer programs. You always seem to try and find an excuse for our struggles. Sometimes you gotta be realistic it is what it is.

There is a difference in being realistic and how you usually act on here.

Sometimes the truth hurts. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions if some don't like it so be it.
In my opinion i still think this team gets out of the group stage and beyond. But if they don't and lose all their games i would not be surprised considering how they played their first game and the last 2 wont be any easier.

If Jurgen has lost the locker room, then he absolutely should go. And not the fake-bullshit "lost the room" like that article a few years back. If he actually has, then I would have no problem with him going.

This was an easy find. I've criticized Jurgen and the program many times, but I don't have the time to sift through my responses to find them.

You, on the other hand, haven't said a good word about him for years. There's a difference between what I'm doing and what you're doing. You have blinders on and can't accept any of his successes, because you want to be right. It's one of the many reasons so many people here can't take you seriously.

Another reason no one takes you seriously is something you did in this thread just now. You posted something about how pathetic this U-17 team is and won't be surprised if they lose all 3 games without scoring. Yet then you say you expect them to get out of the group. You think you're covering your ass, so when they make it out of the group, you can say "told ya so." Or if they lose all 3 games, you can say "told ya so." But in reality, you just sound like a fucking idiot who has no idea what he's talking about. Which, ya know...is what we've all known for years.

If you aren't happy with the USMNT, go cheer for somebody else. I doubt Jurgen will be bothered.

Back on topic, Williams is the problem here. He's been pretty awful ever since he took over, and it just feels like he's the issue holding this team back from fulfilling its potential.

I have said good things about him such as being a good recruiter. But i think he has more cons than pros. I been a usage soccer fan since 1994 iwas a kid at the time. Her talk bad about him more than the actual team. He has regressed us soccer as of late and frankly he has to go. You support him more than anyone you should support Germany over usa cause it seems that way with you.

I agree. I don't think that is our best players or XI are there. Playing Trusty was a huge mistake.

Does one US national team have a good coach? Does any age group have a coach that people think is doing a good job? I don't think I have that high of standards for a coach. So if virtually none of the US teams (possible exception of Tab Ramos, but not quite) have a good coach, who does that blame land on? SUNIL GULATI. He is the underlying source of these coaching problems. He needs to go.
