by the way, sunderland manager says he wont play Yedlin at right back against manchester because hes promised billy jones he would play at rb after being the best player for them last two league matches...does he move him to RM ? Can he justify not playing him after his performance in cup tie?

its just one match and a cup tie. Needs to keep getting fit and performing when he gets his chance whether that RM or RB

im intrigued if advocaat is considering putting yedlin or billy jones on the left. too get both of them on the fiield. obviously id prefer jones on the left so yedlin can stay right since i can not recall yedlin using his left for much other than standing...

No you didnt offend, I like your comments and more positive, beats the incessant debates about few favorite players or call ups.

People forget that Gareth Bale actually started out as a left back and it was after he developed the ability to shoot from range that he became such a devastating force on the right wing.

My dream would be for Yedlin to do something similar and play left mid, using his speed to cut in and blow by defenders before ripping in shots from 20 yards out or so. We desperately need a dangerous attacking midfielder that can score (Dempsey will be too old in 2018). Quite a fantasy though because he's a bit old to completely reinvent his game.

Usually I'm not a fan of our youngsters playing in the Premier League but Advocaat is the exact type of coach we'd want for someone like Yedlin.

I still think Yedlin will ultimately end up at RB.

Yedlin just screams RB, his body build, his acceleration, even his technique (not the quality, the type of technique he has on the ball).

Offensive magistry, that's something your born with, defensive tendencies and willingness to learn and work hard, you can adopt those. He's got the athletic tools to be a soccer cornerback.

well as long as his club team can choose one and Yedlin can excel at it. We could use both RM and RB...I'm good with either.

I would like him to stay at that RB spot and attack from there at a nat level i like the cameron yedling pairing on the right side they are both pretty quick on the ball and can interchange positions pretty well please no more bedoya or suzi (im sure ill get some hate for that lol )

I've always said his ceiling is the highest at RB. He doesn't have the technical ability to be a top tier winger but he can at RB.

What makes you say that? Are you referring more to his close control? He can certainly whip in some nice crosses, and has the pace and acceleration to be very effective in beating defenders/opening up space.

I can see his growth taking a Gareth Bale-esque trajectory where he starts as a wingback and over the course of a few seasons is transitioned solely to an attacking player.

man that little sombrero and chase he pulled off then the cross to follow looked like a winger to me but for now making sure he builds his defensive skills first is a priority im thinking... or we can put him at top with jozy hes kinda like chalie davies no ?

I like his potential at RB. He still has no moves at RM. His speed is the great equalizer so he can mostly get away with it.

He doesn't have the individual ability on the ball. He'll be a one trick pony at the highest levels at RW, it will be a good trick but one trick nonetheless.
