I can't get excited about this galaxy team. Zardes is now to the Galaxy what James Milner was to Man City, the token domestic player in a largely foreign lineup.

It's like Bruce is trying hard to make the Galaxy the most hated team in the land by bringing in the player who effectively ended Stu Holden's career and never aplogized, the player that called Onyewu a dirty monkey and was right at the heart of the racism in FIFA and the player that compared MLS to relaxing on a beach.

Huh: Rogers, Dela Garza, Zardes, and Kennedy are all domestic players.

As much as this pains me to say (literally) ... At first glance, I think De Jong will be a good signing for @LAGalaxy

oh boy 0 advantage for all 4 MLS teams. Could be a sweep in one round come next week.

-LA galaxy with the best chance out of all the MLS teams to qualify to next round since Santos is meh but will still be hard away
-DC playing Queretaro at home could overturn that 2-0 must not conceed.
-Seattle at Azteca is tough but America can be beaten on defense its the Sounders who must avoid conceding
- RSL with the toughest mountain to climb. Must attack and expose themselves against a potent tigres attack.

I would just like to point out that RSL like DC United looked completely gassed around the 70th minute mark. Coming straight in from preseason that is to be expected if mls actually wants to be competitive in this competition they need to change the schedule. If all four teams get sweeped this is embarassing to a league that wants to proclaim itself as one of the better leagues yet keeps getting schooled by Liga MX. The fact we are coming in preseason for CCL is even worse then the discovery process. MLS does a lot of things right but continues to fail in this respect massively.

I have no idea why neither DC or Rsl didnt copy Montreals winning formula from last year. Stay in mexico for a couple weeks build match fitness get used to the surrounding and play against local talent that simulates the opponent. LA and Seattle can still make it thru but both have to win I think LA has the better chance since Azteca is hell on earth in terms of fitness demands. DC and RSL have put themselves in tough spots I like DC's chances better then RSL DC was the better team for the first 70 minutes before the fatigue caught up to them.

what bother me more is garber always talking that we will be this great league in a few years when we cant take this regional competition serious.
MLS coming at a clear disadvantage pointless to play if thats the case.

Well that's 1 MLS team out now. Would be Absolutely embarrassing if all 4 get swept by Mexican teams. It would be a big blow for MLS. And in all honesty Galaxy is the only one with the best chance.

This is reality... It would set MLS teams back if a team won the CCL with MLS current set up. MLS isn't currently built in a way to compete with Liga MX. MLS has improved but not on the level of Liga MX. Fans need to realize that and stop saying the gap has closed because it clearly hasn't.

The gap is closing. How would it set MLS back? That's a bit of nonsense to say IMO.

The biggest gap is the scheduling of this tournament not the talent.
