It not unusual for a young player getting his first real taste of the 1st team play to be bit reckless. Add to that how bad most of his teammates have been playing and it can be understandable why he's collected as many cards as he has so far. I don't think this will be an issue with his coach as his teammates haven't shown anything like half this kids desire. If that changes and he's still picking up a ton of cards than it'll be time to worry.

Had a nice interview with Roger Bennett of Men in Blazers. Listen for his cool Cali/ English accent.

Gooch starting today for Sunderland as the central attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1. Would love to see him get a shot at the October friendlies. I really believe that we could have a dangerous and dynamic team if things continue to develop along the way things have been going-..
--Jozy--Wood--
----Gooch----
-Pulisic----Nagbe-
---Bradley----
FJ-Brooks--Cameron-Yedlin
---------TBD-------------

We still need some help with the quality of our bench options (especially at fullback & CDM), but there are signs that we'll have a very strong starting XI in the not to distant future.

Possible Bench: Howard, Guzan, Horvath, Besler, Birnbaum, Villafana, Chandler, Bedoya, Arriola, Johannsson, Morris, TBD, TBD

A fast technical attack with plenty of physical grit on the defensive side of the ball. Still thin IMO at outside back & CDM, but hopefully these area's can be solidified over the next year or so. All kinds of attacking and Central Defensive talent emerging so things will be fluid until players truly lock up positions.

He's looked decent so far. Kid has so much energy out there every time.

I would like to see him get into the box more. Right now, it looks like Moyes has told him to stay on the wings at all times. Take the leash off that kid.

As for his chance late in the first half, I think it was more of an over-hit cross than a actual shot on goal.

Got subbed off after 57 minutes for Khazri. Disappointed to see; thought he was playing well out there.

Watch his eyes/head right after he hit it. I think that was a shot the entire time.

Admsghs27 is the type of guy to say something like 'but Landon Donovan was better than Messi in 2002' to try to win an argument.

I guarantee Sunderland will be a mid table team in mls. Just watch them be a mid table team next season in the championship if they get relegated
