Sorry, not true. My family is full of military, and all have lived overseas for large parts of their career. Every single one of them lived in South Korea and Japan and all of them loved it, two of which lived in Australia for a few years, one moved there full-time. The others of course you can definitely argue that. Also, I would argue the JLeague is just as good if not better than the MLS, and definitely have produced better players. Maybe could argue the K-League.

Whether the country is a nice place to live or not is largely irrelevant. Whether a city is or not IS relevant.

People want to go to London, and Manchester. People don't want to go to Birmingham, Swansea, etc. People want to go to LA, NY, Orlando, Miami, no one wants to go to KC, Portland, etc.

I would live in Portland before anywhere in Florida.
KC, I dunno. Am I making $1M a year?

I'd also live in Portland before Orlando, for sure. Of course I'd also rather live in Skopje, Ottawa or Pittsburgh than the Washington, DC area, so maybe I'm an anomaly.

The city rankings are largely going to be based on a personal person's feelings. To most Non-Americans they would pick Orlando simply because they have never heard of Portland...and EVERYONE has heard of Orlando.

Some don't like the heat and won't pick anything in Florida or Texas. Some don't like the cold and won't pick anything north of the 40 degree N line.
