It's been mentioned in too many other threads to not have it's own:

The Olympic qualifying is upcoming. Kansas City, Denver, and Salt Lake if we advance are the sites. I will be at game 3 in denver. Who cares!

The important stuff: because he is at Stanford there is no way the star of the show, Jordan Morris isn't there. But previous editions have seen players like Brooks left out etc due to not being released by their clubs. What about the goal keepers...?

I'm just kicking off the thread I will let other people fill in the roster. I will say that Fire midfielder, CB and now RB Matt Polster will be there and is versatile. Good player. Who do you all reckon will be there and who are some of our key players besides the two I mentioned?

If Brooks is with the MNT as expected I would really consider a backline with CCV and Miazga at CB and Payne at RB. That trio looked great for the U-20s. The U-23s is a huge jump in competition but I am extremely excited about all three of these guys.

Think there is a good chance we get guys like CCV, Zelalem, Hyndman, Pelosi, Steffen, and Green in there. Makes up a pretty good nucleus with Morris.

None of those guys figure into the plans of their clubs for the year, some will be loaned out.

Pelosi is with San Jose now (well, once his international clearance certificate come through), so he should be an easy get. If Zelalem goes on loan then getting him may be an issue and I would assume Hyndmann will get more minutes with Fulham, so that too could be problematic.

Good call on Julian Green. His chance for redemption and could be quite the pairing with Morris.

I would of preferred green to go on loan but I guess he is still in Bayerns plans. Maybe he can get some first team minutes later in the Season. Also Gyau should be back healthy soon really wanna see him back with the MNT.

I think Joe had a setback and isn't expected until the winter break to be healthy so I wouldn't expect to see him anytime soon.

I think we need to find out exactly what Zelalem is as a player. He Has been playing more of a Pirlo type of position with Arsenals youth teams, and to be blunt I think that's exactly what he is going to be at the senior level. He isn't a winger and he really isn't a CAM/underneath the lone striker type of player either.

If they continue in a 4-4-2 diamond Zelalem best fits as the CM underneath the two strikers. I think Ramos forced Zelalem out wide with the U20s because of Hyndman, but I would argue that Zelalem has a higher ceiling than Hyndman and as such he should be the player at the CM spot.

I would like to see this for the first game:

----Novakovich----Morris---
-------Zelalem------
Green----------Holmes
-------Alashe-----
Pelosi---Z-Man---Miazga---Payne
--------Steffen------

I love Holmes too but is there any indication Herzog and co have even seen him play? I hope so- that spell he had two seasons ago at Yeovil had me wanting to see more.

And @2tone, don't hope too hard for Novakovich. If they didn't release him in the offseason why would they release him during it? (I'm hoping too)

Holmes is getting praised by his new club coach with Huddersfield. Hopefully he will be a more utilized first team player this season. I think it's a travesty Holmes hasn't been called in for U23 camp yet. Especially considering the lack of true wide attacking middies for the u-23's.

I hope to see Holmes start to get recognition by the USMNT/Olympic team this up coming year.

Hard to imagine Rubin not being in the 11. I love Novakovich and Morris so part of me wants to see a 4-3-3 with all 3 up front.
