We have a few that can still potentially play Champions League Group Stage football.

Fabian Johnson is almost assured as he is a starter for a club that has already qualified. So unless he picks up a knock or falls out of favor, he will play in Group Stages.

Julian Green and Gideon Zelalem are young fringe squad players for 2 teams that are already qualified for the Group Stages. It's doubtful that either will see Champs league playing time, but it's possible. More likely that both are loaned out this season.

David Yelldell is on a squad that is in the playoff round (win and they are in). However he is not their starting GK. Doubt he sees any time.

Horvath and Gatt are both regular players for Molde (when Gatt is healthy), Horvath should be the #1 for Molde this year. They play today and next Tuesday. If they win those matchups then they will be into the playoff round. win that and they are in.

Good chance that all we have is Fabian Johnson this year.

I think we have a lot riding on players from the last u20 cycle and the upcoming one. It's unfortunate that we didn't get much out of the 2013 cycle except for Yedlin and Trapp.

The upcoming players may not be playing Champions League but it'll be nice to have players to look for in Europe again.

This is somewhat of a dark time for our NT but the future IS bright. Unfortunately, the future isn't now.

Think it goes to show that the current talent pool/generation just isn't that great. It's better than we have had. But it's still not on the level that many want it to be. I think in the next 4-5 years That will begin to change.

Guys like CCV, Zelalem, Hyndman, Johnson, Brooks, Steffen, Pulisic, Gyau, Green, and more are all talented enough to be on Champions League level teams.

Yep. On to the Europa League play-off round. Win there and he is in to the Europa League group stages.

Still can get a lot of Valuable big-time football experience against some of the world's better clubs. Especially since it seems he is definitely the #1.

Oh absolutely. I think we saw last season, with the addition of the winner getting a CL spot, that teams are taking the competition much more seriously. The more guys we have in th Europa league, the better. That's kind of one reason I'm bummed AJ is off to Bremen. Obviously it's a step up (or two or three) in terms of quality of league play, but bummed we won't see him in Europe.

Fabian Johnson, champions league star, capable of playing in midfield and outside back.

Only champions league representative unless there is some crazy transfer.

I'm going to have to disagree with this. Realistically, yanks in the Champions League will only be getting six games there a year (maybe eight if they're lucky). Your league games though are 30+ a season. That matters more. If we're talking about USNT players, I'd rather have them playing for a low-tier Bundesliga or Ligue 1 team not in European competition than for, say, Celtic. The week-in week-out competition is what matters.

I get what you are saying dolcem. But not a low-tier. Mid-tier where they aren't in a relegation battle every year.

Yeah, I never said I would rather see him stay in the Netherlands. Obviously him getting minutes in the Bundesliga is the most important thing. I just said I was disappointed that we wouldn't be able to see AJ do his thing in a European competition.

So here is what we have:
Europa League:
Molde:
GK - Ethan Horvath (will be playing against Ajax, Celtic, and Fenerbache (RVP, Nani)).
FC Sion:
FW - Maki Tall will only play if called up, right now he is with reserve squad).
Dortmund:
MF - Joe Gyau
MF - Junior Flores (both are on the reserve squad so not likely to play)
Groningen:
DF - Desevio Payne (in the first team squad, but hasn't featured yet this year)
Tottenham:
DF - DeAndre Yedlin (in the first team squad, but hasn't featured yet this year)

Champions League:
Monchengladbach:
DF - Fabian Johnson (starter when healthy)
Munich:
FW - Julian Green (reserve squad, won't play)

So for guys that actually will play we have Horvath and Johnson.
