Rain do you not know that Williams is out because of a nagging knee issue?

No matter how much I want to like morales on the field, he hasn't produced yet for the usmnt. He'll get there. There's a reason JK wasn't playing him in the gold cup and there's a reason he was pulled at half. I want him to get more time but now is probably not the best time.

What are your thoughts on the USA Germany match? Seems you forgot to post about it.

Personally feel Benny isn't called in by JK due to a personality issue he has with him. Benny is aggressive at times on twitter in relation to the usmnt. If he's aggressive there I'm sure he hasn't held back in other ways as well. Just an assumption but one I've felt is correct for a year or so.

Rain is back and we have fireworks. . . It's not even the 4th of July anymore!

I will say this. Jk is our coach at least until 2018. No one is going to agree with all his decisions. I don't know why he does not rate Sacha or Benny but it's clear they will not play under JK. The coach of the nats has a right to play whatever players he feels will get the job done. We then have the right to evaluate him based on team results. Our team has preformed at least as well under JK as any other coach, if not better. If anyone thought that Jk was going to take our talent pool and win the World Cup in 4 years then they are incredibly naÔve.

By 2018 I think the USMNT will be considered a dark horse to win it.

I think the favorites will be:

Germany
Argentina
France
Belgium
Spain

Dark horse contenders:

USMNT
Wales( yes I said it, team has talent)
Chile
Colombia
England

In 2006 we were Top 5 Favorites to win the WC. Did not get out of group stage.
And no Wales does not make the WC, also Brazil is Brazil in case you forgot and can lift the WC in Russia.

We were not top 5 favorites to win the world cup. We were ranked 4th in the FIFA ranking. Not many pundits expected us to get out of our group and thought our ranking was b/s. There's a HUGE difference.

I respect your opinion as much as anyone on this site but 2018 is still too soon. I know we had some pretty good friendly wins and we are on a good run of form right now but what makes you say such? I don't see any world class players in our 23 in that world cup unless Green, Zelalem, JAB and a few others make dramatic leaps from now until then. I see us pressing for a quarters spot, for sure.

truly sad that so many USMNT are so naive as to support the idea that a 30 y/o playmaker in his absolute prime is "too old" for this cycle

http://www.sbisoccer.com/2015/07/midseason-be...

unlike lee nyuyen last season, benny did not just come out of nowhere. he and kljestan should have been given major responsibilities to pull strings and orchestrate in front of/next to MB since JK took over. people should be PISSED that JK has it SO WRONG over and over

he cant deal with LDs personality? benny's personality? sachas personality? how is that so many other coaches get the absolute best out of them?

JKs ego is obviously so fragile that he cant handle strong personalities... so instead gos with his "yes men" over and over - wondo, beckerman, evans, mix, davis...

for Fs sake, lets get someone who handle it so we can see the best talent on the field. its kind of one of the big BASIC responsibilities of the job!!!

JKs philosophy:
I am the diva. get in line or go home.

fucking narcissist

really? you didnt see my comments on germany game? look again (go back a page)

morales, like SO MANY others before him is being played out of position. he is CM, not a wide mid. give him the 6 and see what he can do

In news actually related to the Cuba game, Ariel Martinez defected, so Cuba without one of their best players today.

I thought I'd get us back on topic (with something that hadn't been mentioned in this thread yet). If you'd rather argue about things totally unrelated to the thread, by all means, but do it in another thread (either one that exists or create a new one).

Everything is related, every post started with something that had to do with this game and led to other thoughts.
Not to much to mention about this match that hasn't already been said until the match is played. We do not know too much about Cuba other than defectors and they are relatively unknown at this stage. I expect a decisive win by us but who knows we have not exactly been running on all cylinders. This could be the spark or another lackluster performance that ends in a W. JK hasn't found his best line-up this cup.

So every thread can meander off topic because of Tobler. Got it. Theory would have worked best in 2013 when we were wearing the appropriate jerseys for it. Seriously, I expect a similar match to when we played them 2 years ago, slow start, but we pick it up second half and win easily enough.

Feilhaber deserves a shot with the National team, klejstan not so much. Though its hard to see that both will have much of a chance to be playing in Russia.

Name one coach anywhere that does not have their own style and ideas. Coaches are always going to have their favorite players who they like or believe fit their idea of how the game should be played. You may be pissed at JK because he cut player X or doesn't get along with player y. It's all irrelevant, what matters is if the coach is pushing future development and getting current results. JK has been successful in both those areas. You have tunnel vision if you think we have to be successful with only certain players.
