Why take out Alvardo? He looked pretty good. Needs to add some strength bus Im ok with him and Ream in the Quarters. Id actually like to see the following.
Zardes-Aron-Dempsey
Bradley-Bedoya-Beckerman (or Mixx. Would have preferred Morales).
Fab-Ream-Alvardo-Chandler
Guzan

If you look at club form and club resumer Chandler is arguably our second best behind Fab. He was scouted by German FA. Theres a reason why he is so good in Bundesliga matches when the opponent is almost always better than these CONCACAF teams. Why cant he play like that for us. Is it something Jurgen is trying to do differently? That to me is up to Jurgen to figure out. I dont know how you can take someone who wasnt even in the 23 man roster and start him during knockout matches.

Wait...you want to play a 4-3-3 with Beckerman as a Right Mid? Surely you mean Beckerman as CM and Bedoya as RM?
Other than that I don't have an issue with it. However we haven't done well when we have gone to a 4-3-3. Just don't think we play well in it, don't think our guys like it.

Someday I'd like to see a 4-3-3 in a friendly with
Zardes - Agudelo - Morris
Bedoya - Bradley - Yedlin
Shea - Brooks - Alvarado - Johnson

Just have those guys run and run and run. See what kind of torture they put the back line under.

The absence of Alvarado in my lineup has less to do with him and more to do with the circumstances. I thought Ream and Gonzo looked decent playing together against Haiti and with Brooks out I prefer to revert back to the Ream - Gonzo partnership than role out an entirely new CB pairing in a knockout round. I get that Ream and Gonzo only have one game together so it's not a big sample but that's my logic.

I don't agree with your Chandler argument. I don't see how it is Juergen's fault that he cannot string together passes on target or that he gets caught out of position when he's playing his natural RB position. Jozy might be our most talented striker but he played poor and Juergen sent him home as he should have. I'm obviously not privy to the tactical discussions or instructions that Chandler is receiving from Klinsmann but if he cannot adjust to Klinsmann's system whilst playing in his natural position then the US isn't the right team for him and I wish him luck with his club career.

I was talking about the 4-3-3 thats more of a 4-5-1. Bradley/Bedoya/Beckerman all are more central dn let the forwards provide the width
