We have an interesting situation on Monday. We've won Group A and will play in Baltimore next Saturday. We haven't looked good in the first two games but we still secured the maximum points and we'll have from Monday to Saturday to recover from the game against Panama.

We could play our best team and really try to get something special going, play well and find our rhythm to get our confidence up for the knockout rounds or we could experiment and rest players because we have nothing to lose.

So what do you want to see?

I don't really care I'd just like to see a Johannsson - Zardes partnership up top and Morales start in the midfield.

If Bedoya is going to be healthy enough to play in the knockout rounds then he should also get minutes to see how he looks. Otherwise we should send him home after the group stage.

tough... do u rest Dempsey and Bradley. Give Jozy one last start to see if that lights something because in my book Iceman and Zardes are better option than Jozy. If he does nothing against Panama might as well send him back to toronto and call Morris if hes healthy.

Hmm. I think you rest Dempsey. Have Altidore as a sub. If Bedoya is healthy have him start.Start Yarbrough:

------Zardes-----ArJo-----
Bedoya------MB90------Yedlin
------------Morales-------
Fabian----Brooks-----Alvarado-----Chandler
--------------Yarbrough--------

Morris is currently recovering from foot surgery so he is not an option. If there is a striker that needs to be dropped it's Wondo. Bring Agudelo in after the knockout stage for Wondo and keep Jozy around as a backup.

Agudelo should never come in for Wondo. Not anymore. You can't take out a guy who has earned his spot and give it to Agudelo. He has been passed by Zardes, wood, and Morris.

After the first 2 games I think I will revise the players coming in and out based on performance and non usage.

Zusi for Corona Zusi's performance has been pretty bad in this gold cup so far had a forgettable friendly against guatamela and a poor performance against Haiti. Corona can offer a good option of the bench

Ream for Besler Ream has had an okay gold cup he did enough against Haiti but he is still unlikely to get much playing time. Bring Besler in to see if he can play a factor in the knockout stages of the gold cup.

Morales for Kitchen Morales has been fine depth but this is a chance to see if kitchen could play a role in the gold cup because so far morales hasnt been used at all.

Garza for Beasley Garza struggled mightily against Haiti and showed that the left back position is still up for grabs which beasley will gladly take for now. Fabian Johnson can be used at right back or moved up into the midfield with this decision.

Other potential players to go.

Chandler did not have a good game against honduras and was okay against Guatamela but Klinsmann is still high on him possible switch for Beasley if fabian gets moved to right back.

Brad Evans had a good cameo against honduras however had a torrid game against Haiti is not a good option at right back likely to stay since klinsmann values his leadership and fits multiple postions.

Chris Wondolowski an option off the bench as a poacher likely to stay since Klinsmann values him highly also.

Jozy Altidore Klinsmann is known for shaking things up and holding players accountable. Altidore has been coming off an injury however has not meshed well with dempsey and has made many poor decisions. If klinsmann feels his team needs a wakeup call and feels that altidore doesnt bring much from the bench then he will do this move. Klinsmann has done unorthodox things and I think after bringing altidore off at halftime then this idea might not be so far fetched.

Alvarado Klinsmann praised the defense in their performance against Honduras however Alvarado looked quite shaky against Honduras and the question is will he be counted on in the knockout stage. Klinsmann could switch for Orozco as he is quite high on Orozco and Orozco is well versed in concacaf style of play.

Shea Davis Morris are suffering from injuries so unlikely to be called on as replacements. Lee Nyugen is struggling in form. Juan Agudelo has fallen well down the depth chart. Alan Gordon this isnt 2013 anymore.

Doesnt anyone else feel like Jurgen is still experimenting for future semi or Final? You have to think that will Bedoya coming back he would force Yedlin back to RB meaning Chandler is Benched? If Brek comes he forces FJ to RM? Just so many questions as to how we can improve going forward and overall defending

If we keep playing this way no way we make the finals. Probably not even the Semis. I think JK will still make changes vs panama.

My math says if we win by 2 goals we can eliminate panama (very likely) tomorrow, which is a good thing.

I want 3 points but I'd be OK with just no injuries as you know panama has a score to settle, besides just trying to advance in this gold cup.

It would be great to see Zusi and Johannsson score tomorrow.

Resting Dempsey is a must. He's getting up there in age ( although his age has nothing to do with the tournament) and he's taken quite a few hard knocks from Honduran and Haitian players.

I don't think Bradley rests. Too valuable. Although a Mix and Beckerman/Morales pairing would be nice against a team like Panama.

I'm surprised they even took Bedoya for the group stage if he really wasn't healthy enough to play.

Not sure where you got your math from. Panamax old still advance. Actually if we wanted to best set up the knockout rounds we would want to lose. That pretty much guarantees hinduras or panama as third place. That means it's now possible that mexico would have to go Honduras/panama, Costa Rica, then us in the finals. Due to costs ricas struggles we could end up sending them to mexicos bracket. Usas run could now go Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico.

I couched it with (very likely).

The Haiti-Honduras game will be before USA game so in that respect you are correct sir- we could manipulate the matchups if we so choose. Listening to Jurgen sounds like he wants to eliminate panama.

Regardless of what team we field it will be really close to our A team. And every single one of them will be busting their nuts - they know Juergy is always watching. So we should get the win. Anything else would be a (minor) disappointment.

Yeah, resting Dempsey a must. I'd rest Bradley too although that might not happen. But Dear God at least give him a half off - this will pay dividends in the finals. I hate how coaches run some of those poor bastards into the ground.
