If the USA had kept the best dual nationals and still gotten the ones we have gotten. What would our team look like?

GK - Guzan
LB - Johnson
CB - Subotic
CB - Brooks
RB - Chandler
DM - Beckerman
LM - Bedoya
RM - Najar
CM - Bradley
FW - Dempsey
FW - Rossi

Immediately makes us considerably better.

Lol. 3 out of your starting 11 are different. And Najar wasn't even eligible to become a citizen when he decided to rep Honduras. So 2 out of your 11.

We've seen/talked enough about Subotic/Rossi. This thread is an odd one.

I would trade all of the duals we didn't get for a healthy Stu Holden in 2010 and 2014. We're into the quarters both years, imo

Nah bro, I mean Holden was a boss... but Rossi up there would have helped Altidore Donovan and Dempsey ridiculously...

Subotic will always sting. Rossi was never going to play for us same as Sakai.

Healthy Stu Holden is something. He kept playing well for Bolton he would've been on a top 4 team

the stuff I was reading said Najar was born in USA or maybe spent a could portion of his child hood here. Could be wrong.

As far as him being good enough. HA. He would absolutely start at Wing for us. That's our weakest position. He was eating us up Tuesday night. He is absolutely better than Zardes. NO. QUESTION.

Kljestan is better than Holden could have ever been.

On a serious note, a healthy Holden would mean we'd have a drastically different usmnt to this day.

I hope you know what I'm getting at with the Kljestan joke.

Regardless of if their duel nationals or not the USMNT is heading into a new cycle after the Gold Cup and there are going to be a LOT of changes made over the next 3 years. There are a number of highly regarded prospects in the pipeline as well as the inevitable finds (duel nationals, players on a hot streak, etc...).
With only a handful of players (Jones, Dempsey, Beasley, Wondo, & Beckerman) aging out the focus will be to upgrade positions of weakness.
RB: Chandler, Yedlin, Fabian, (Payne & Moore hot on their heals)
LB: Fabian, Garza, Shea, Acosta (Need to find another 2)
CB: Alvarado, Brooks, Gonzalez, Besler, Cameron, Birnbaum, Hedges, Packwood (with CCV, Miazga, & EPB hot on their heals).
CDM: Williams, Morales, Bradley, (Canouse, Stanko)
Box-To-Box CM: Bradley, Diskerud, (Hyndman, Zelalem)
CAM: Bradley, Diskerud, Corona, Kitchen (Zelalem, Flores, Sonora)
Wings: Zardes, Bedoya, Zusi, Corona, Shea, Bunbury, Green, Gyau, (Roldan, Gall, Allen, Arriola)
Forwards: Jozy, Johannsson, Mooris, Agudelo, Rubin, Boyd, (Tall, Tompson, Pfifer)

There may not be any world class players in here, but there are a number of very skillful and technical players within the player pool. Yes we still need a few things to break our way....but these players SHOULD be enough to form a very competitive 23 man team.
