In the event Cuba beats Guatemala tonight we would play them on Saturday. Weren't a few other players struggling to get their visa to enter the US? Seriously how many players do they have available tonight 17 or 18?

Last game they had 15. I think their down to 13 now. If they were to get trough they might be down to 11 by the time we play them.. maybe 10.

They had 20 last game. I know you like to exaggerate but at least fact check

How could they have 20 if they only had 16 vs Mexico.

And from what i heard they were down to 15 vs T&T.

First two sentences:
"Six Cuba players and manager Raul Gonzalez Triana will not arrive in Chicago in time for Thursday's Gold Cup match against Mexico.

"Logistical problems" reportedly prevented the team members from leaving Antigua after an Olympic qualifier.

And count the players on the bench:

As much as I'd like to see Cuba win, there must be one more high stakes matchup against one of the all time villains of USA soccer- Carlos "El Pescadito" Ruiz and Guatemala.

Eh, much as Ruiz is definitely a heel who's caused us some irritation when we've faced them over the years, they've never beaten us during his time with Guatemala. It's kind of Rafa Marquez in a special category of supervillain, then everyone else for me (Joel Campbell, Blas Perez, Oswaldo Sanchez, Marlon Leon along with Ruiz if you want another Guatemalan heel from yesteryear).

I love how Cuba keeps sending teams to stuff. So stubborn.

If they're too proud and stubborn to ease relations with the US, that's politics. But I love the added hilarity of always trying to send teams to countries where their athletes can defect.

If they normalized relations with the US, their athletes could only stay behind illegally, as opposed to "embraced by the State dept".

I guarantee from all 3 possible teams USA wants to least play El Salvador.. Cuba, Guatemala would be easy. But El Salvador can cause some problems and with a huge pro crowd on their side.

You do realize that the US beat El Salvador 5-1 in Baltimore in the Quarterfinals of the 2013 Gold Cup right?

They have a whole new team. Plus that's when players were selling out. And we had Donovan on fire also. Look at Cuba now their winning and playing well..

Different team of course but the massive pro crowd last time didn't seem to phase the nats.
