Not to get politics going but just because the two countries start diplomatic ties doesn't mean the people will be free to travel. People are free to travel there from the US but the US DIDN'T make allowing their people free travel as part of regaining ties. So Cubans will still be unable to travel freely unless US makes that a requirement to restarting ties.

You're correct. I was assuming thawould be be lifted as per any agreement.

Anyone else a little disappointed in how poorly these concacaf teams have looked? Maybe it's because copa and UEFA qualifiers just happened but if we can even get a tourney with 12 decent teams that's pretty sad. Guatemala, Canada, Honduras, Haiti, Costa Rica, even us look terrible. Hard to get scouts to watch the gold cup when the quality is this poor.

As poor as the refereeing has been against us in our matches (worse than it usually is) it got me thinking that it may be retaliation for the FIFA probe

That's CONCACAF, ridiculously physical and all about defensive formation. I thought Guatemala was going to blow it when Contreras was sent off. It happens, Mexico can still come back and win the tournament. I don't take too much away from this draw.

I think we forget that how CONCACAF teams play ugly. Looks like this Gold Cup will be the hardest one yet imo. Mexico with all their attacking power they couldnt break down 10 man Guatemala. It helps us having good aerial attack

The only 2 teams that have won both games have been the US and Trinidad and Tobago. Honduras still worries me in a potential semifinals game for the United States. Mexico against panama Mexico better be careful because Panama has been awful unlucky not to have 6 points from two games. Trinidad and Tobago have looked really good they could beat Costa Rica in a quarterfinals matchup Wanchope is nowhere near as good tactically as Pinto was. Costa Rica has been outplayed both games.

I am not sure how Mexico plays against TT. That will be a really interesting game. Do TT and play, or will they be satisfied with qualifying in second, if they lose.

After watching Mexico struggle against the Guatemala defense and hack a player tactics, I am going to rescind my earlier rant in the USA vs Haiti thread. We did what Mexico could not, find a way to win the game. Mexico still has not done anything to show they will be able to make it past the quarterfinals.

Panama ?? If they lose tonight their pretty much on the brink of elimination and would need a miracle.. I think USA and Haiti get trough in our group. Honduras gets eliminated.

Haiti has been good but agaisnt honduras and pinto i see honduras taking that match. Haiti doesnt know how to finish and honduras will force mistakes from their backline with their pressure.
As for panama even with 2 points they could still qualify lol why? Well as a 3rd place. Guatemala will prob take 3rd of group C but then you have Jamaica vs el salvador, jamaica physically will be too much for el salvador. It will come down to who loses by a less. But also lets not forget we havent played well up to this point panama could get a point especially if we rest starters or rotate which would only make sense.

El salvador and Costa rica have 2 pts also. And we know Guatemala will get 4pts. So the GD will be key for Panama. I don't see either Costa rica or El salvador losing they will either tie or win.
