Great tie by El salvador at the end they deserved it. That group is very even gonna be fun to watch their last games. I think El Salvador beats Jamaica and Costa Rica beats Canada. Also another player defected from Cuba so that's that.

I used to cheer for El Salvador in games like the one last night, but I absolutely cannot now. I do believe El Salvador should have been banned from this Gold Cup at least. There has to be a point where the federation gets punished if the match fixing by their players is pervasive. If I want to watch pre-determined results, I can watch WWE, even though they may not be as adept as El Salvador at simulating contact sometimes.

I'd rather ban Cuba than El Salvador. This happens every time.

Please expand on your Cuba ban argument, but it doesn't need to be one or the other, the case against El Salvador with 22 players banned or suspended was very clear.

It's a joke really. I mean El Salvador are pieces of s-- for throwing games. But at least it's not every tournament they do it, like how half the Cuban team defects. Whichever group they are the teams basically get a walk thru. It's a shame as well.

***editorial statement- as a child of a Cuban, this is a touchy subject. I'm not my crazy uncles from Florida who are basically Marco Rubio but with better hair. I went in person to Cuba and saw how soccer (at least among the youth) is about 50-50 with baseball. Or at least what they play on the streets. The sleeping giant of concacaf, in my opinion. But until they can handle playing at an international tournament without ruining the competitive balance of their bracket, I would be hesitant to extend an invitation to them.

If Jamaica wins against El Salvador then Jamaica wins group B. If Costa Rica ties or beats Canada they get drawn with Trinidad Tobago in the quarterfinals. Costa Rica ending up in mexicos side of the bracket. In regards to Skangles I think Canada will put up a fight but a draw is in my opinion their best case scenario. Canada just doesnt have enough in midfield or attack to really trouble other teams defenses and goalkeepers.

Just want to point out that the USMNT is on a six game winning streak right now. I believe they have the longest winning streak right now in International soccer.

Are you Serious ?? El Salvador should not get banned at all... It wasn't the whole team or even the Federation it was just an X amount of players that were accepting bribe money it wasn't like everybody was involved. All the Culprits got caught and they served their punishments and most got banned for life. This is a whole new team and staff they moved on a long time ago from that fiasco. Also they are the Youngest team in the Gold Cup and have players that play with heart and love for the game. As for Cuba they should get Banned because this is not the first time they have players Defect is every single time we know their gonna keep doing it so why even invite them even if they qualify they shouldn't be allowed here because we know what their gonna do. Wont be surprised if they have to play 10 v 11 vs Guatemala all game due to lack of players because it has happened before. No point of bringing them here they are a waste of time and are giving Concacaf a bad reputation.

Regarding Cuba once us and cubagovernments finally stop their ridiculousness embargoes it won't be an issue. There will be no more defecting as people will finally be able to come and go as they please.

admsghs27, nice job bringing up damaging Concacaf's reputation in support of your argument against Cuba. As if El Salvador's 22 players (you conveniently left out the number) being banned for match fixing didn't do any damage whatsoever. I guarantee you that fixing matches is perceived much more negatively than players defecting. Granted, there is little to be damaged in Concacaf's reputation after its president got arrested for corruption, but keeping El Salvador in this tournament just reinforces those perceptions. At what point would you now ban El Salvador from competition? 1 more player fixing matches, 5, 10, 20? Or would you just keep throwing out bad apples without checking the tree?

Not to get politics going but just because the two countries start diplomatic ties doesn't mean the people will be free to travel. People are free to travel there from the US but the US DIDN'T make allowing their people free travel as part of regaining ties. So Cubans will still be unable to travel freely unless US makes that a requirement to restarting ties.

@2tone- we aren't sleeping anymore. The giant known as Uncle Sam stomps on all weaker concacaf midgets.

Speaking of this group- T&T better get their W tonite.
