Oh but we do: Robert Kenedy nunes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEmKxgLQyDo

Speaking of which he'll be another young Forward at Chelsea. I guess they're collecting young forwards now like they're Pogs.

Has it actually been documented that he's even eligible for the US? I thought this all started because it was reported a while back that he had some undefined link to the US. That yellow and blue kit he's wearing in the video doesn't look very American.

Corona is on a different level. He is the only one from that final in puebla vs USA who has done something or gone big. I had hopes for Joya or Cuevas.

That's not giving Corona enough credit. If we had a player that could dance around with the ball like that we'd all be going nuts right now.

um not really its a fact. CR were dead tired after the halftime. Is he good? yea looks good so far. Its one thing starting a match and another playing as a sub.

Since he never suited up for the Brazilian national team, Chelsea will have to loan him out. If he has a "Julian Green" type of situation, then Brazil won't even be interested in him. Lots of people in Brazil still don't know who he is.

On the thread, it says US Soccer is aware of him. I asked Tom Marshall a few months ago to see if he can find any info on him. He told he would but never got back to me. Im sure his camp is keeping his US citizenship on the DL.

I talked to Steven Goff about a month ago about this situation. He said one of the problems was finding any proof of US citizenship for his father. While his father might have lived in the US for a significant time period US soccer officials told him that its a pretty slim chance at this point that he is even eligible for the USMNT.

I heard he was born in Miami and his mother ripped up his birth certificate (got pissed at the father) and went back to Brazil.

Not a bad business model though...buy them, develop them a bit more, get money from loans, increase the value of an asset, sell asset for profit or reap the rewards of development. That's FFP at work for you.

As for the US link...seems tenuous at best. Great if it can be proven as it always helps to have more options.

Its a low risk business model as theyll get money from loan deals to make it not a big investment and the reward is very high.

Although I think the spurs/southampton model is what all the EPL teams strive for from a financial standpoint. Look at Kane for example. He costs spurs nothing and they could have sold him for enough to bring in 8-10 new good prospects. Chelsea and Man City have been in a rut bringing players from youth/loans to 1st team.

Depends what you buy and your expectations. If Spurs sold Kane, they certainly could have bought 8-10 squad players to keep them in contention for Europa league. Realistically, the money should be spent on 2-3 players who can get you into the Champions League, provided you can sell your ambition to these types of players.

I would not say City and Chelsea are in a rut as each has had players who could have risen through the ranks, it's just the win now mentality that puts pressure on the manager to succeed which in turn does not allow for youth players to get minutes as managers will always go with experienced heads when they need results.

Chelsea has made significant inroads in developing players since they invested in a new training center. It can be argued they have a few U-21's that could get significant minutes for mid table teams but given the stakes, they need to be sure they can cope before being given opportunities.

Couldnt agree more. Philosphy is good. Execution is horrendous.
