Maybe now people will stop saying Evans is a better option than chandler. That was a terrible lineup choice and it showed. Hopefully he goes back to our best players

Evans was better than Chandler despite not having a great 2nd half. Problem with Evans is he does not have the athletic ability that Chandler does and does not get forward like Chandler does. Chandler has a much higher ceiling but has not often played to his potential for the National team. I truly feel more confident with Evans in than Chandler at this point. I would rather have Yedlin in that spot than either of them.

I agree. Evans is a really smart player, his positioning and his timing are really good. His downside is that he just doesn't have the wheels to keep up with really speedy players which we saw last night. If we could combine Evans' brain with Chandler's ability we would have one hell of a player.

Chandler is a much better player than Evans simply because he is a positive player. He connects well in the midfield and makes excellent runs. Really not even in the same league. Chandler can sit back defensively and not expend himself on the attack just like Evans. That is not winning football.

Graham Zusi needs to not see the pitch ever again.

Love AJ. I hope he gets at least 60 minutes a game.

Oh, also, I'm going to continue my stand that it's not clear who the best 2 CBs are this year, and throwing yourself in any one of their camps is kinda bratty. I know everyone wants to pick a favorite, but just relax. We have like 6 CBs of roughly the same quality right now.

Agreed. I think Brooks is still in the front but he still has some kinks to work out.But damn hes good at 23. Alvarado didn't look all that good vs Honduras but he's still learning on the fly. Ream and Gonzalez was an interesting pair last night. They were caught ball watching quite a few times. Both are solid in possession and good/great in the air. Omar is also very good at emergency defending. Want to see more of Ream. Besler is up in the air.

We won playing crapping. Going forward a few players I think should be in and those out

IN: Zardes and AJ. With Clint underneath.

OUT: Jozy. If he's out of form he's been that way a couple years or more.
Zusi. Was waiting for him to get back, waste of time on that wait.
Garza. Not quite ready for prime time but I am not giving up on him.
Evens. Smart player, think he's a bench depth player

Want to see: Morales

Looking forward to Bedoya's return.

CD. Coin toss. I think all four so far were good overall. All made mistakes. Beisler and Orozzco (or how ever you spell his name) are also good choices.

MID. What happened to our MID? Near end of game Bradley and Mix started to gel together but before both were having a horrible game. I feel Beckerman coming in let those to not worry so much about defending. Would like for Williams in Beckerman's place in near future.

I still think Klinsmanns overthinking things and trying things that havent worked. Diskerud at the 6 doesnt work any game we dont have diskerud at the 6 we play better in with a natural 6 because it frees bradley and the rest of the midfield to be more creative. If you are going to play Fabian Johnson and Chandler on the backline or any combination of attacking fullback you need players who can tuck inside. Thats why Diskerud on the left and Bedoya on the right is a good idea both players can tuck inside while they also are good defensively. Yedlin and Zardes make sense on the wings if you have more defensive fullbacks behind them not attacking ones. In attack it should be Zardes and Dempsey they both complement each other well Zardes runs at players with place and has good hold up play while dempsey is good at keeping possession and does well in drawing fouls from other teams and well scoring.

Best 11 for the knockout round

Zardes Dempsey
Diskerud Bradley Bedoya
Beckerman
Beasley Brooks Gonzalez Fabian
Guzan

Best Subs Yedlin for running at tired defenders and spreading defense out at the end of games. Morales for tightening up the game at the end of the game. Johannsson for needing a goal at the end of the game more likely wondo will be used by klinsmann.

First off when Zardes came on Dempsey went up and Zardes played on the wing. That was clear. So any talk of him doing better than Jozy up top is premature. He didn't play up top. Having said that Zardes looked pretty good. He is cementing his spot as the LW/LM.
ArJo looked great with his runs, etc. But his first touch was lacking. There was one particular that Jozy picked him out on a great run, great pass, and he had the defender beat by a step, his first touch was lacking, the defender caught up and ended up with no shot on goal. For me to say he did GREAT, he has to at least get a shot on goal on chances like that. He absolutely deserves another start. I loved his runs, he was dangerous. Just needs to be better in the final third. At this point I'm wondering if he is one of those guys who is a great club player, but is a great club player because of the combo play, etc, but a so-so international player (as the combo play, etc just isn't on the same level).
I still maintain that Dempsey and Bradley just doesn't work. Lacks Cohesion if Dempsey is up top or as a withdrawn striker/CAM.
Jozy was crap. No defending that tonight, but the combo of him and ArJo looked and worked better than Jozy/Dempsey.

For the person who said we didn't see Haiti's speed coming, if that is true, then that is just stupidity on the USA's part. I think we knew, we just tried to play off of the speed and had possession guys out there. I just don't think it worked, and as soon as I saw the starting lineup, I was like what the heck is JK doing (usually I am a fan of his selections). This was just stupid. Lets get the slowest backline and slowest midfield we can possibly field against a team that is very fast. Makes sense to me.
We are lucky we still got the 3.

Personally I'd like to see what ArJo/Altidore/Bradley can do with Zardes and Yedlin and no Dempsey.

Against who? Costa Rica looks like a shell of their WC2014 form, Panama too. Jamaica looks good, however, their defense would not hold up against us in a knockout game (IMO). Mexico? Did you see their game last night? After watching Mexico play, I am rescinding my earlier rant about how we played against Haiti. We found a way to score two goals, one that counted, and get the win. Mexico did not. I do not think Mexico will win the group, TT forwards will give them fits. It is going to be fun watching the last games.
In the end, I still think we can make the final and win.

we will look much better come the knockout rounds. I'm not worried about it.
First off seeing Honduras and Haiti play, I don't know if there is a team in the tournament that is playing better than them at the moment. Certainly not Costa Rica or Mexico.
Maybe Jamaica, maybe Trinidad. But are we really concerned with those teams? Do we really need our A Squad to play their A game to win? (NOPE).

Form and injuries are fickle things. We are not so far ahead of any other team in the region to be able to overcome a drop in form or bad injuries to key players.
