Here are the changes I would make:

-------Zardes------Deuce-----
Mix----------Bradley--------Bedoya
------------Beckerman--------
Fabian-----Brooks------Alvarado----Yedlin
---------------Guzan----------

Alvarado keeps his place due to his speed versus Haitis speed.

Chandler is benched for Yedlin

Hopefully Bedoya is healthy to start.

Altidore not in form.

Zardes will work his butt off next to Dempsey.

Looks good to me Zardes gives the forward line some speed plus his hold up play is usually very good. Mix in midfield can cut inside to open up space for fabian down the left side. Plus mix is usually pretty good in possession. Bedoya also can cut in to allow space for yedlin who can also make good recovering runs on defense. Overall this is a pretty balanced lineup I think it would work well against Haiti.

----Johannsson---Deuce---
Fabian----Bradley----Bedoya
------Diskerud----------
Ream---Brooks---Alvarado--Chandler
--------Guzan-----

Chandler obviously sucks but our options are limited. No Garza for me because he is too slow.

Yedlin and Zardes can be the impact subs

Dont know what else to say but this whole roster sucks! Maybe Holden is available?

Yeah, we need to see Zardes at forward at this level. And we need to give him games and not freak out if he's mediocre in his first couple of opportunities. And it would be great to see him replace Jozy just to emphasize to Jozy what he could have been with a better attitude and work ethic. Jozy is no better today than when he was 19.

I'll take 2tone's lineup but Zusi for Mix. I'm fine w/ Zusi & Bedoya at outside mids even though they might not be the future. Think they're the best options today. Winning the Gold Cup is important.

Id like to see Morales for Beckerman. We should dominate possesion. Now need for KB this game. Let Morales show what he can do. I want to see the Yedlin/Chandler combo one more time. I think this game is a perfect set up for them. Im also ok with either Zardes or AJ in place of Jozy. Let Jozy come in as a sub to let the game come to him. Id prefer Bedoya over Mixx if we use Zardes up top but either is fine with me. Actually my preffered lineup would be
Zardes-Dempsey
Fab-MB-Yedlin
Morales
Garza-Brooks-Alvardo-Chandler
Guzan.
That puts our best offensive options on the field. Vs Haiti I dont think we need much defensive responsibleness (if thats not a word it should be). Lets attack Haiti and then in the 60' minute or so if/when we are up 2-3 goals we can bring in the defensive/possesion guys like Mixx, Bedoya, Ream

MSaintoine,

I like that lineup, only difference I'd consider would be AJ for Zardes.

I could care less if Jozy gets minutes as a sub or not, seeing him in pregame talk about leadership made me gag. The guy isn't a leader on the field to me, not enough hustle, not enough aerial attempts either. I'd be fine with JK making another example out of Jozy, not to say he's not a top player for us but I have a serious problem with his work rate at times. Really was hoping the hammy injury he had last month would force us to look at all of our other options and make one work at the gold cup. All the talk about Sunderland not being good as the reason for his lack of goals... He didn't hustle to the box, period. He'd come back to play holdup then jog slowly to the box when they were about to cross, he'd still be miles away over and over again. Didn't play on having Jozy rant but there it is.

I just laugh that you guys want Zardes over Jozy up top. Good luck with that. Hate on Jozy sure, but Zardes right now is nowhere close to as good as Jozy as a FW. NO.WHERE.CLOSE.
Zardes has found his niche as a Wide Midfielder for our team. He is progressing there and getting better, and now you want to switch him to FW just as he is getting comfortable? SMH. Yet you are the same guys that say JK experiments to much and we don't have a set lineup, etc.
Maybe the only change I would make is Morales in for Beckerman. Legit change that actually has a chance that is.
Personally I would drop Dempsey back to a Wide Midfielder (where he has played...and played the best for most of his international career). Leave Altidore alone up top.

Altidore
Dempsey - Mixx - Bradley - Yedlin
Morales
Johnson - Brooks - Alvarado - Chandler
Guzan.

But since I don't think a 4-1-4-1 is in our arsenal, It would be more like a 4-2-3-1 with 2 of the 3 out of Mixx, Bradley, and Morales as the deep Mids.

Im on board with AJ instead of Zardes.

Regarding Jozy there were three plays that made me scream at the tv.

1) He had the ball at the 6 yard box and kept cutting back and forth. Eventually didnt even get a shot or a corner.

2) Received it with his back to net just inside the 18. He made a good turn but then lost control. Dribbled into Bradley instead of passing it and led to a counter for Honduras (which I think Brooks snuffed out at midfield.

3) Had the ball on his left foot after some nice passing around 12 yards out from the right side of goal. Instead of taking the shot he tries to get it onto his right foot and gets the ball taken away from him.

3 great potentail scoring chances and not even one shot on any of them.

as far as #2 goes, that is what I have been talking about in regards to the trio of Bradley, Dempsey, and Altidore. They all like to occupy the same space. Just not enough of that space for all 3 to be playing similar roles. It could work if Dempsey played out wide and made darting inside runs, but I am not convinced it works with Bradley as a CAM, and Altidore/Dempsey as the 2 FWs.

Zardes is a striker, so it's not experimenting. Zardes was actually better at striker versus Germany than he was at winger.

Jozy is not in form nor is he match fit. There is a reason why Kljnsmann has taken him out the last two games. Because who has been POOR.

Jurgen spoke with reporters and said the backline is the backline going forward. Id be surprised if he makes any changes there and seemed to suggest they need reps to gel in time for the knockout stages. Only changes I could see are replacing Zardes/Yedlin with Mixx and maybe Jozy with Zardes or Arjo or Wondo. (Id prefer Morales for KB as well but doubt thats happening). I also wouldnt be completely shocked to see the same XI but could see Mixx since we wont have to worry about defending too much.

Panama dominated Haiti. Haiti pretty much scored on there one scoring chance. If Panama can do that to them we should have no problem. Also a win vs Haiti and a Honduras win/draw means we are guarenteed to win our group so maybe that third game will be more about getting guys minutes and confidence and resting those with slight knocks and on yellows

I think we will see some changes, if only due to having 3 tough matches within a week. This would be Jozy's first game against Haiti at senior level if he plays, but I agree he doesn't look 100% fit or in form. One correction of one of my posts, it was Duckens Nazon who scored Haiti's goal against Panama.

If Dempsey had the legs he had a few years ago and the desire he had a few years ago sure, but moving Dempsey out wide now is a recipe for disaster! He will not track back and will leave FJ on an island and force him to stay at home, thus negating his great strength to the team. And if he did track back he would easiy get beat and take some stupid fouls which will lead to cards.

Playing ArJo at CAM makes much more sense to the team than Dempsey out wide.
