My subs would've been

Johannsson
Diskerud
Bedoya (if healthy)

Cant wait for Cameron Carter Vickers to get his grown man on!

A few stats:

Chandler: 50% passing completion
Jozy 65%

Personally wanted morales on for Zardes to close out the game and shore up possession.

I didn't like the Zusi sub and I'm not down on Zusi like most folks, I just think he's more of an offensive sub when we have Morales is a DM by trade that has played out wide for us in the past. If Morales isn't on the team for that exact scenario then I don't understand why Juergen brought him.

That said the Zusi sub worked but it didn't make sense to me given that we have Morales.

But those were 3 good subs.

No. 1 good, 1 mediocre, 1 bad.

Zusi created Honduras' last chance with his idiotic choice not to chip forward into space for us to run onto, with 30-45 seconds left in the game.

-He carried across and then played across
-Intercepted by the team that needed a goal
-duh

Zardes was one of the best players in the field.. Did so many things hard work and hustle and defend, and presence, etc... He deserves another start...

I would consider going with the same starting 11 against Haiti. Haiti is a different beast from Honduras and while Alvarado doesn't deserve to start again, I like his speed against Haiti.

Typical concacaf slog...saggy D...tons of fouls to slow any momentum...the usual street fight....comical Honduras didn't get a yellow until the end of the game.

We lost our defensive shape at the end...if I didn't know better I'd say it was a bit lazy from players that have enough experience to know better...looked a little shaky up the gut...even earlier in the game...MB and Beckerman not looking entirely on the same page defensively...

3 points....moving on.

Drunk.

Also, were you not watching the same game? The one where Brad Evans kept us in the lead? Explain to me, with all your infinite knowledge, how those three subs were the worst possible subs.

HOW ARE PEOPLE BITCHING ABOUT THE SUBS?? WE WON A HARD-FOUGHT GAME AND ARE TOP OF THE GROUP. It's like bashing my head against a wall over and over reading some of these posts.

Zusi did well until his turnover at the end. If you want to hoot and holler about US players that gifted Honduras with scoring opportunities then it's sadly most of the team.

These are two separate things.

Also JK is a mix of 'very, very good' and 'wut?'. We all know this. Pros have said this.
So if we're critiquing his 'wut' choices on Y-A, you're just going to have to live with it.

Zardes hustled but was garbage today!

I was hoping for the US to get the 3rd goal so 2tone could've gotten a cookie for predicting the right scores.

Evans was a good sub, chandler is an offensive RB and it was time for defense.

Wondo was a whatever sub, we needed a speed Forward off the bench but Klinsy didn't bring any depth there (Morris, Wood), Altidore looks indifferent.

Zusi sub was eh, Mix and Bedoya must be hurt... Zusi solid possession midfielder and he did make one of the best runs in the second half just couldn't get the cross off fast enough.

My main concern is how every USA player looked like they didn't really know who their teammates were and where they were going. I remember many plays where the ball was played to feet right when a player started his run away, or vice versa. Especially up top and in situations where there wasn't even pressure on the ball.

Of course its not a surprise this was an ugly grinder game that is Honduras' specialty and why they are the worst opening draw we could have possibly gotten. But 3 pts, top of the group and we're in a great spot to hopefully win the second game and clinch next round so we can rest some guys in game 3.

Also, not only did we get the 3 points, but no injuries playing Honduras. I'd say that's a strong positive to take away.

Wondo played ok. He actually moves around and can combo pass. He got himself into some good spots to receive the ball...probably should have gotten the ball more, but the final pass was off the mark for everybody tonight...Yedlin had him wide open on the right side of the box on the counter, but chose to squeeze it inside to Deuce.

I like a Wondo/Deuce combo in a game like that.

Funniest part of the game...Zardes makes the exact same run he did against Guat on Wondo's goal...but this time, guys are stacked like cord wood waiting to pounce on it...Deuce, MB and couple others...feeding frenzy.
