Serbia is very technical and organized. If you've watched them, they can play. Don't need to use as much physical game like Colombia did bc they are well organized.

There number 11 can play. They are also getting a top midfielder and leader back from suspension. I think his name is Sergej.

Definitely will we rejo at lb. I'd imagine Allen will start up top with Rubin as he's got the call before Thompson every game.

After some sleep will take a look at Serbians team. They came out of a tough group (Mali crushed Ghana, Uruguay and Mexico) but they were very lucky to beat Hungary needing a 90 min stoppage time goal the a Hungary own goal to win.

Win and advance.

1. Payne played outstanding, played a really complete game. Hard tackles, calm on the ball, drew fouls.

2. Steffen.

3. CCV and Miazga were excellent, snuffed out a lot of stuff coming down the middle.

4. Delgado really struggled, which is a big problem because we're stuck with him unless you can somehow make Joel Sonora a 6 in 3ish days. If at all possible, I'd figure out how to get Sonora on the field with Hyndman and Gedi against Serbia. Roll the dice, Tab.

5. Allen has a lot of limitations but he battled.

6. Tough night for Gedi and Emerson. Both were swarmed the whole match. There were times when it was as if we were playing 11 v 13.

7. Serbia will also be without a starter next match, some dude named Milan Galic. No idea what position he plays.

If you trust Miazga and EPB for one match, CCV could move forward to hold the midfield. Line up in a 4-2-3-1

Steffen
Payne, Miazga, EPB, Requejo
CCV, Sonora
Zel, Emo, Arriola
Rubin

Interesting idea. Though I bet EBP would slide into the 6 before CCV. CCV and Miazga are playing too well together to make a change there.

The only downside to using EPB would be distribution in the midfield, but it would free up the skill players (Emo, Zel, Sonora). Also, having EPB's size on set pieces would be a plus, especially since we are thin in the forward position.

Palmer-Brown specialty is passing. He could play the 6. But I think you guys are off base on that one. I liked Delgado last night. No stupid fouls and he was all over their attacking midfielder. I bet he starts at the 6 against Serbia.

No argument with you, but by now we have been scouted and the favored lineup by Ramos has been sussed and planned against. Add to that we are short on attacking options so why not give them a different look and get a few more creative players out there. Finally, they will be dangerous on set pieces so extra height and muscle in the form of EPB would not go amiss.

Of course he'll start at the 6 against Serbia. He has started all 4 games so far at the 6. Why would we change now?

There is no reason he should change the Miazga and CCV pairing the middle.

Nothing in the midfield will change unless we go to a 4-5-1 and get Sonora on the field and leave Rubin up top. But I don't think we'll change formations now.

GK-Steffen
CB-Miazga
CB-CCV
MF-Delgado
MF-Zelalem
MF-Hyndman
FW-Rubin

No reason to talk about anything different with those guys.

Who starts at LB, Req? who starts at RB (Moore or Payne)
Who starts up top with Rubin.

I think if we are going with the 4-3-3 and the wide right man is Arriola (who likes to play on the touchline) I would play Moore at RB and tell him to mainly stay at home. He can defend, he just can't attack very well. But with him at RB, and Payne at LB- we keep our size and athleticism intact pretty much. I bet Payne can play LB...
If it's JRjr, I still have confidence in him. He can put in a decent cross with his left foot and has good energy.

I am still confused as to why ramos only picked 21 considering that injuries and red cards often do happen during long competitions like this. I think we have enough depth but I still think we could have used a backup to tall and another player in midfield if acosta was going to be used at left back for the tournament.

He selected a full roster. Jamieson was the backup to Tall. Once the tourney started, Tab was not allowed to go back to the player pool and replace anybody. Every team I've ever played on or seen has had 3 keepers so that wasn't an option.

I just really hope we see Thompson up top with Rubin.. Ramos has to see after two games Allen does nothing for this team. Thompson would actually have more positive impact on the game.

All the same starters start for me. Reqeujo at LB, hopefully Thompson up top with Rubin. Unfortunately we don't have another 6.. Or stronger D mid, so as someone said were stuck with Delgado. But fortunately we will face a less physical side and more of a technical side.

I would be utterly shocked if he was back in the next 4-6 months.
