I've seen reports say they've been lining him up all over the place. Some RB, some RW, some RWB, some CDM, some CM. Good to see him at this age moved around as it only increases his value. Perhaps he can finish the year stong and make a push to get back to Hoffenheim next year.

Who's his coach, Klinsi? ahhh I kill me!!!!!!

I don't want to jinx it but last week DC United was talking about signing a 32 year old Nigel de Jong which makes zero sense.

I don't know how good Canouse will end up being but he instantly gets me interested in tuning back into an otherwise awful DC United team in a way that de Jong never could.

Also reporting that Paul Arriola is close to moving to DC United. Could end up with both Canouse and Arriola. You'd think they'd both be everyday starters rest of this year and are a good foundation to start off next season

Also reporting that Rafa Marquez got caught being a member of the Flores drug cartel. Ahhhh it's a good day to be a USMNT fan.

Still many holes to plug. Need to figure out wth is going on at RB, since Sean Franklin is 33, need to get another CB, one that can force Birnbaum to the bench if he keeps playing poorly. Then you have to answer the question of whether Patrick Nyarko and Lloyd Sam will stay on as wing depth, and lastly are they putting all their faith in Patrick Mullins and Deshorn Brown as their forwards?

TJ is brutal this season. Could see them in a relegation fight.

Yes they have holes but it looks like they might be copying the Atlanta model. Young midfielders, veteran defense. Better than going with 30 yr old retreads.

No de Jong, no Championship level LB on DP money. Instead we get two exciting young yanks in Canouse and Arriola plus Zoltan Steiber. Granted I don't know much about Steiber but I'm happy to take a flyer on him.

Bravo DC United, Bravo.

At full strength DC's midfield / attack suddenly looks quite good.

---Mullins---
-Steiber-Lucho--Arriola-
--Harkes-Canouse--

Ok I'm putting way too much faith in Steiber. Maybe he's legitimate, who knows. Otherwise, put Nyarko in his spot and we're solid. Now United just needs a bit of luck to get everybody healthy.

Fun fact from Black and Red United: Russell Canouse went to High School with Travis Worra. I have to assume that Worra helped recruit Canouse to DC.

Interesting to hear him say that considering he spent time in the NYRB academy. Either way, yes it refreshing to see the club spend money on these players rather than trying to cobble together a team of MLS retreads.

Audi Field is gonna be rockin next season.
