I'm good with Thompson over BJIV. Tommy T has an attitude I really like. He could be someone international scouts dig because of his trickery. If he can pick out the right pass, he is one of our two or three most dangerous players. Excellent runs off the ball.

Unlikely we'll see Acosta at CDM if we haven't already seen him there but here's what I'd like to see in the knockout round.

Rubin

Thompson--Zelalem--Hyndman--Arriola

Acosta

Requejo Jr--CCV--Miazga/EPB--Payne

Steffen

It's no guarantee we play Colombia. Could easily end up being Senegal or Portugal.

The only way we play Senegal is if they beat Qatar, Portugal beats Colombia, and Senegal makes up the 4 goal differential. Not impossible, but I wouldnt say likely.

Only way we play Portugal is if Colombia beats them outright. Since Portugal hasnt lost, & Colombia hasnt looked good in the world cup or qualifying I also would say thats not the likely scenario.

It will be interesting to see how Portugal plays against Colombia. They are in the exact same position we were in. Only need a tie to win the group. Played the two easier opponents first. Only difference is they dominated both games where we dominated only one. Wonder if they play for the draw or go for the win. I have a feeling they go for the win

Youth teams are unpredictable. Look at Argentina more than likely out of the tournament and they had on paper one of the strongest sides coming in.

That's exactly why these games shouldn't be so scrutinized! Save that for the big boy level.

You can't use tactics at this level, just let the best players play!

Next round line-up:

--Rubin-BJ--
---Sonora--
-Zelalem- -Arriola-
---Hyndman--
Acosta-CCV-Miazga-Payne
------Steffen-----
This is our best possible line-up I think, I would start Thompson but I feel Ramos will start BJ bc he's the only one with height..

I bet Ramos wishes he could sub on Pfeffer his super sub. He produced every game, just look up his u20 stats.. Bet he also wishes he didn't pick Allen over Gall last second, Gall is better..

Not having a true D mid play in the D mid position is hurting us.. Someone like Sonis or Luis Felipe with strength is needed there.. Passing deep is fine but when your opponents come straight down the middle your gonna lose..

I feel that Pfeffer gets overlooked since he has been in the league so long. Wouldn't surprise me to see him with the U23s while many of the U20s don't get called.

And whatever happened to Luis Felipe?

No conclusions or information should be drawn from this game. It was clear how little it was valued by US. Move on. Nothing to really discuss.
