I think Sonora would be pretty quiet on that left side...I'd rather take Allen or Arriola on right and Thompson on left.

Looks good. I'll keep Allen on the right and keep Thompson as a 2nd half sub. Allen struggled to get involved going forward the 1st game but I liked what he did from a physical standpoint, thought he gave two smart hard fouls against Myanmar.

I will leave the lineups and such to the rest of you- for a team that started poor against a technical side in Ukraine, I thought New Z finished the game very well and was unlucky to not score with several good chances from the 80' onward. They are the home team- and given the injury to Tall I think we may struggle to score a bit. I would be satisfied with a draw in this game.

@navi- gonna have to watch and see how they adapt to not having Maki Tall up front. As the tournament goes on, I expect us to play better as the players become more familiar with each other. I could see us going 4-3-3 at some point, it is Tabs favorite formation. With Allen and Thompson and Arriola and BJIV and Rubin we do have some players that could play that wide FWD spot.

I think if Zelalem can come in and play like he did from 70' on against Myanmar and combine with Sonora and Hydman and Rubin. I think this attack will look much more fluid and potent this game and end up with a better showing than we did against Myanmar.

I can get behind this lineup. Although I could see Ariola or Allen instead of Thompson out wide. Only thing I question is I know in training and the friendlies Tab had Payne at the left and Acosta at RB. I know Payne is a natural RB but thats how Tab used them recently unless that was just as a trial.

My score prediction is 3-1 US as we stop messing around in the box. Goals by Rubin, EPB (off a corner) and Zelalem (causes massive US fanboys to explode). I jsut dont see us pitching a shutout as we are too prone to mental lapses and with Acosta on the backline we dont have as many lockdown defenders.

I expect a few changes for sure. With a win already in the bank Tab may give some more minutes to guys like Arriola, Zelalem and BJIV. Or even Tommy T.... It would serve to et guys on the field and showcase them early on in the tourney. EPB, how could I forget him. You'd imagine he is gonna play sometime before the knockout round.

Ukraine and Mayanmar 0-0 at the half

Myanmaris out shooting Ukraine. Although the refereeing is a little slants in their favor. Makes then us result not look as bad and maybe the Ukraine match not as daunting.

The quick passing is giving Ukraine fits at times.
