the real question is- will the "referee's union" so to speak punish Dempsey by not giving him his marginal fouls/dives?? Will they be quick with the yellow/2nd yellow when Deuce starts complaining and throwing up his hands?

I'd love to see a league change on flops/dives. Right now MLS gives about a dozen cautions per year total for diving.
As for Deuce and Keane and other stars throwing fits all the time, I don't know. But for some of those fits the refs are certainly in their rights to do so.

Yeah, the Galaxy is my team, but Keane does act like a little bitch a lot. Beckham did too. Although the NBA has pretty much become un-refable, they did do a very clean, immediate job of eliminating dissent from the game. Most dissent doesn't bother me though - I kinda like the entertainment - it's the diving. Agree with some of the people here that what Dempsey did is pretty hilarious.

Yes, he should definitely be punished for it. Nothing to do w/ the USMNT captaincy IMO. Bradley has earned that for on the field reasons.

What makes the NBA un-ref-able?

Well looks like Dempsey will be available for the Gold Cup. Good or bad?

Should JK strip Deuce of the captaincy?

Its good he still is playing at a top level for mls the national team hes been out of the picture for a while but I am pretty confident he will play at a high level. I still dont think he should play the group stage even with the suspension we can make 6 changes to the group stage and I think dempsey should be one of them.

Yes he should and even as a person who owns a Dempsey jersey its time to switch to Micheal Bradley. Bradley has been captaining the squad in Dempsey's absence and has been playing at a very high level for the USMNT specifically the germany and holland game. That and while I like dempsey a lot hes not captain material some people are and some people aren't he doesnt work as captain.

You want you captain to be someone who will be in the next world cup for sure. I don't see Dempsey still being part of the team in 2018 but who knows. I think it should pass on to Bradley even if there was not the on field issues with Dempsey.

Dempsey was never a traditional leader like say Boca. Should have always been Bradley.

I thought Beasley did a good job as captain during last year's Gold Cup. I'm not advocating for him over Bradley at this point but I liked him as a captain.

I've said it before in these forums. I have trouble watching an NBA game. A lot of physical contact every time down the floor. Calls seem to be arbitrary. I did watch some of the finals. Reminded me why I don't watch the NBA anymore. It's a joke. Didn't you see the games? The announcers were even all over the refs the whole time - that NEVER happens. Announcers usually protect the refs.

I didn't see the finals and I don't watch NBA to speak of. But from fans of the sport in the past, yeah I've heard that any given call is on a pendulum that swings back an forth across the years... all-stars never get called for traveling at home, etc.

I can't help but wonder if the NHL went from the Wild West to the most impressively called sport in the last decade or so, but I don't really know how baseball is doing. I'd really like MLS to straighten it out..... some crazy calls this year.

Orlando-Columbus tonite should be feisty.
Tomorrow, the Cosmos-NYRB and LA-Quakes. Those would be the three best matchups of the round.

Tonight we go in search of a win in chicago. Frank Yallop is gonna feel the pain and boos if the Fire lose this game. People starting to hate his guts around here.

Good for OC. I like there team. Some nice young prospects, young reclamation guys with upside, and verterans. There roster building philosophy resembles NE Revs style

I'm happy to see they went with their starting 11 against the Crew. Trying to get some silverware in their first year as a big team.
I'm excited for the Fire v Orlando game in the next round. Unfortunately I'm
