He is not better than Boyd(when healthy), Altidore, AJ, Dempsey or any of the other first choice forwards in the US pool at this moment. He would just be there for depth. Maybe slightly better than Bobby Wood and that is because Wood has been erratic.

He would be a winger with the USMNT not a FWD. I don't think he is a natural goal scorer. And the USMNT is in need of capable wingers.

But he is a depth player like I mentioned he won't come in and win an automatic starting XI role. He will challenge the current depth yes but I would not be sad if we miss out on him. Maybe if he develops into a star in 5 years then I will regret this but at this point, it is whatever.

When fully healthy klinsmann has stated his interest in him. I could see him getting called up for a friendly in the future especially the ones before the beginning of WCQ. I doubt he makes it to the gold cup this summer he hasn't played enough consistently. Next year if he stays healthy he could definitely get some decent playing time for augsburg.
