I suppose you are right about that skangles.

Why do I think Williams should start at cm with morales? Because he has size and skill to play the position. Danny can get forward through the middle a bit, I think it would be a strong combination. Not only that, but Denmark and Switzerland would be good measuring sticks for those players.

That's a good point about randomly rooting for teams. I was sort of hoping Jermaine Jones stayed at besiktas for that very reason.

MB90 will be called over and will start v denmark (well, as long as he is healthy) - toronto does not have a game the previous weekend. would be reasonable to hope that morales or williams starts next to MB.

v swiss just im guesing JK releases MLS guys - games are 6 days apart - so that game could very possibly see morales and williams together

With the potential change over from the 2014 WC team at CM both Danny Williams and Alfredo Morales should have an opportunity to stake a claim to the CDM position with the USMNT. Depending on what formation JK and his staff settle on will depend on if we need 1 or 2 CDMs.
With Both Beckerman & Jones likely aging out of the NT picture by 2016 at least 1 true Destroyer will have to step up. Right now the likely candidates are Williams or Morales.
Kitchen is a distant 3rd at the moment.

Bradley, Diskerud, Trapp, Powers are more Box-to-Box types. While Bradley could play the destroyer, the team would lose his late runs into the box.

There is a long way to go before we get to 2017 Confed Cup and the 2018 WC so we should expect the CM position to be tested and validated over the next couple years.

I fully expect to see both these guys called into the March camp.

you know we talk about cameron, Johnson, brooks, yedlin, wood getting minutes abroad but here a guy who has virtually started every game in the bundesliga. Not much mention and while he doesnt do anything fancy the manager starts him because he is bringing value of team work to the table. He has struggle for USMNT when he came in as a 2. bundesliga player but surely he should be a player with arguments to be given a another chance to start in USMNT and show what he has learned this season in Bundesliga.

yes

we've got a mid-table EPL starter, mid-table bundesliga starter as well as a just-entering-his-prime danny williams (who i feel is a great option despite his lousy game v costa rica) yet people are still with JK and his decision to give a 34-year-old (35 in 2016) out of contract MLSer JJJ the nod at CM, despite a proven inability to develop good chemistry with MB90

morales, williams and cameron are superior options to JJJ moving forward. id rather see guys like trapp, kitchen, tchani or even DAX than JJJ in 2016. if none of those seven guys are available i MIGHT turn to JJJ

its not 2014 anymore folks. JJJ is past it. JK will stick with JJJ. cant wait for an exciting new year of USMNT!

Id like you to find more than 1 post in the last 4 months that was in favor of playing Jones.

I've probably made a couple in favor of JJ. BTW, does his middle name start w/ "J" - that would be pretty weak. I'm ready for someone to beat out JJ - just haven't seen it happen yet.

only 2 players atm that can say they are full bundesliga starters. Johnson and Morales. I dont include Brooks because he wasnt one at beginning of the season but earning minutes now too. Regardless my point is morales should be an option on paper. Whether he delivers well we will see.

Jones is quite possibly the most important presence in the locker room. Sure Howard, Dempsey, and Bradley are the leaders, but aside from maybe Bradley, no one plays with as much passion and grit as Jones. The dude leaves everything on the field.

And he is a dual-national.

There are some people that feel there is a schism between the "Amurricans" and the "furreigners," and that perhaps the latter are playing for their careers rather than for the flag. If that is the case, than Jones is as important as any player on the team. He has been around longer than any of the other dual-nationals, has a huge personality, and bleeds red, white, and blue. He sets the example for all of the other dual-nationals to follow, and I'm willing to bet that if someone like Julian Green was dogging it a bit in practice, Jones would get right in his face. I bet Jones had a word with Fabian Johnson, as well. This is not to mention that he is still clearly good enough to play for us. We need him.

In 2015, we were obviously still going to see veterans like Beckerman and Jones play for us. It's too early in the cycle to throw these guys for youngsters that haven't earned spots yet. They will eventually be phased out, but you guys need to take a chill pill. If they're still on the team in the Hex, that's one thing, but let's let these guys impart their wisdom on the new guys for a few months longer.

If Beckerman is starting the first game of the Hex I'll probably throw a plate of nachos at my TV.

I'm all for keeping certain "Older Veteran" players around in 2016 and possibly beyond. Players like Dempsey, Jones, and Howard still have something to give to the team (leadership, experience, etc....). However IMO they need to be transitioned a bit from full time starters and/or garenteed 90 minute players into substitutes and mentors.
Some of the other veterans (Beckerman, Rimando, etc...) need to be retired. There are younger players that are their equal in every way except for experience and the only way for them to gain experience is to get game minutes at the international level.

Scored a header And getting the start. Find it crazy we dont bring a starting bundesliga starter to national team. Yes he was injured seems like he has earned his starting XI spot back.

I thought in November he would have been given a chance but it seems he just hasn't gotten the trust of klinsmann yet. Sooner or later we will need to find replacements for beckerman/jones in the 23. I am just surprised he hasnt been given an opportunity yet.
