Franco Panizo wrote a good story on Alfredo's success this season at Ingolstadt over at SBI:

Ingolstadt is in 1st place in the 2nd Bundesliga. Say they get promoted. Surely Morales would become a USMNT regular, or no?

Yes but he also has to be a regular at the Bundesliga and play well. Its a whole different level else he will have that squad role Brek Shea had for not playing

Still neutral on Moraless but I think he can be quality i mean he is 24 still

They are still in first place, currently with a 9pt lead over the second and third placed teams. It looks ingolstadt is too good for the league, as after 20 games, they have only one loss.
Morales has started almost every game, and plays 90 minutes almost every week. He's one of their key players at ingolstadt, one of the "first names on the team sheet." There are plenty of arguments about what his best spot is, and what he can do. Next year will be important for him if he can handle the jump up to the bundesliga.
This guy could be our Nigel de Jong: just enough skill to play with the best, allow the other players to play, while being an absolute beast and borderline crazy. I'm a fan of this guy- every successful team needs a maniac or two, as long as they fit in the team concept. Morales is proving that in 2bund. right now.

I do like the attitude from a defensive middie. Like JJ.

He was a fan favorite at Hertha when they went down to the 2. Bundesliga in 2012-2013 too.

I remember seeing a few people wearing Morales jerseys in Olympiastadion in 2013-2014 when he had already left the team and Hertha were back in the Bundesliga. I did not, however, see any Brooks jerseys.

@skangles- Always like players that get the "fan favorite" tag. You know what you will get when you put them on the field. 100% activity and interest in the game.
My main point is bumping this thread because we kind of lose track of the second tier players like morales, ream, Williams, lichaj etc and they get overlooked because they aren't on tv much at all. But they are every bit the player that a guy like Cameron who is on tv with stoke is.
I'm really looking forward to see (especially now that Bradley, jones and mix are stateside) who Jurgen chooses as our "euro" team. We have plenty of choices still. I'm hoping to see morales and Williams, even potentially hyndman joining in a 3man midfield.
These upcoming friendlies are morales' chance to show Jurgen and the country just what he is all about and why we should get excited about him.

I don't think Juergen will have a Euro side in March as the two games are FIFA dates and Juergen can call up who he wants. The end of last year was different because of the MLS playoffs. I think he'll call up what he views as our best team.

If there is a lockout/strike it gets really interesting.

could not agree more... but this is just one of about 100 examples of JKs questionable decisions... but you seem to be a staunch defender

since WC morales and williams have combined for 1 start - morales out of position as a LM v ireland... while diskerud has started all 6 in CM ... and generally US has been completely overrun in center of the park (with 0 wins in last 5)

if people want to make excuses about why morales and williams have not gotten looks, fine, but most reasonably astute observers realized long ago that diskerud's contributions are almost purely confined to isolated moments in the attacking third... meaning he is a horrible option as a CM at the international level. we knew this last cycle, yet JK gives him start after start in CM at the expense of others

i dont see how reasonable fans are not put off by this. anyway, glad to know that if they dont get their chances in march you will be completely put off

Personally was hoping for Williams to make the World Cup squad prior to his injury.

With such rave reviews about him deserving starts and not just callups, just curious how much you've watched him this season?

Morales is a dog and could cement his place if called in again.Ingolstadt are close to promotion and having another USMNTer in the Bundesliga is fantastic. Especially a midfielder whose name is always on the team sheet.

I've become an Ingolstadt fan just to see Morales get bumped up to the Bundesliga. Weird how following Yanks abroad makes you fans of teams you've, admit it, never heard of prior.

By all accounts he's having a great season.
