Horvath is Molde's #1. Started the Champions League Qualifier today and got the clean sheet.
Almost guaranteed to win this round as they are up 5-0 on aggregate right now.

If the advance they will either be 2 wins away from the Champions league Group stage, or 1 win away from the Europa league Group stage.

If he can make it to the Champs league (tough road for them) then I think he will be the first American GK to start a Champs league Group stage match.

Will be interesting to see who starts for the U-23 between him, Steffen, and Cropper. Being that at that point he will have a LOT more experience in League games than both of them.

Lot of depth at GK.

If starts group stage matches he needs to brought immediately back into the fold. Maybe even a few senior call ups too

Between him steffen and cropper we should have a good transition once Guzan and Howard call it quits

Not big on Cropper, but I like Hamid, Steffen and Horvath.

Molde started their B team (mostly) last night and lost 1-0, but advance on aggregate. They will play the winner of today's match Dinamo Zagreb v Luxembourg side Lola Estch. Those 2 drew the first match 1-1.

Looks like it could be a favorable matchup for Molde in the 3rd qualifying round. Win that and they are on to the playoff round. Where they would avoid the big boys.

It'll be interesting to see who'll start in the first friendly in September. The first month of the EPL season will be crucial. Will Guzan keep his good form or will Klinsmann revert back to Howard?

Unless Guzan really stuffs it up tonight or this weekend, the spot is his to lose. Howard should eradicate the need for Rimando which is a good thing.

I'm good with giving Howard and Guzan each a Friendly in September. I like competition but the onus should be on Howard to demonstrate that he's playing at a higher level than Guzan and not vice versa.

I think Guzan has been really good during the tournament.. Would suck if they bench him when Howard comes back. He has earned the starting spot for now.

Didn't like Guzan in the Friendlies. Have liked him a LOT in the Gold Cup.
Agree Howard should come in as the #2 and have to earn the #1 back.

Which I think he can do. I just wonder if he will still be able to in 2018.
He will be 39. It's not unheard of for a GK at that age to still be top of his game. But That is still pretty OLD.

Lehmann was 36 in 2006 (He was the #1 not Kahn).
Buffon was 36 last year for Italy
Shwarzer was 27 in 2010
Mondragon was 43 last year for Colombia

Horvath is making a name for himself. I wouldn't be surprised to see him as the Olympic starting GK. Probably won't be on the Olympic qualifying tournament due to Molde being in season still.
