On Agudelo, for the folks that criticize Jozy as being lazy, any comments re: Agudelo? He didn't appear to be particularly engaged.

I don't criticize Jozy for being lazy but do have some comments on Agudelo. He did not have a good game. Speed of play was too much for him today. I felt the same way about AJ vs. the Dutch but he was great today. Too bad for Juan he does not get another game to prove himself. Juan better have a top notch camp and a great all around game vs. Guatamala to make the final GC roster.

LOL at Lalas calling Chandler a lollygagger!

The German guy mentioned he thought that the US came out looking scared. I have often noticed this too. One thing I have always respected about Mexico is that they always come out with a swagger in their step. We need to start out games the same way instead of always playing the first half on the back foot.

The first 15 - 25 minutes is what I have always noticed. We usually settle down after that. That is also the time frame when IMO we are most likely to give up a goal. We are getting better, slowly, but surely! Didn't JK talk about us playing like Mexico, with no fear of the big boys and trying to play our game from the first whistle, in the run up to the Netherlands game?

Regarding Chandler, I have always given him the benefit of the doubt. I try to watch his club games when I can. He has talent, just does not bring it 100% for USMNT. Here is the conversation JK had with Chandler at halftime:

JK - Timmy, you lollygag your way around the backline, you lollygag your way to mark Gotze, you lollygag your way up and down the field. Do you know what that makes you? Andi!

AH - Lollygaggers!

JK - Lollygaggers. (after Chandler leaves locker room, JK scratches his head and turns to Andi "was ist lollygaggers?")

Espn thing. I guess. U don't kjoe when they started doing that because espn used to do ratings for subs. My guess it's because JK is getting his subs right and they can't stand that.

The confidence in the new breed f players is palpable.

Morris about the game winning goal: I wasn't surprised Bobby scored. We have practiced that move over 20 times in practice. Me and Bobby have struck up a very good partnership.

That mentality has been missing from the USMNT young players for awhile.

Both Bobby and Morris have that "it"factor.

I agree. Morris def has it. College kids don't perform the way he's performed these past two games. He and Wood have been great options off the bench.

I didnt see how he played after coming the half because of work but looks like Evans seemed more effective than Chandler based on the goal.
how was he defensively because obviously he was good enough have the 2nd goal created

But do we still hate Beckerman, because I really think we should stop. He's pretty damn good, and he's ALWAYS looking for Bradley.

(hint: that is a great thing)

Amen! Beckerman's presence was immediately felt.

Unrelated to your post and I haven't read through the full thread yet but I have to say that I think Bradley was the best player on the pitch for either side today. I could imagine a Bundesliga side inquiring with Toronto this summer.

Much more exciting team when Dempsey and Altidore aren't starting!

I'd like to see a Dempsey / Aron pairing in the starting lineup actually. They'd provide a lot of diversity and could play off each other.

I also think Jozy would be a damn good option off the bench. First, it would light a fire under him as he would have to get out of the comfort zone that he's had with the MNT over the past few years. Second, who the hell wants to face a beast like Jozy coming on with fresh legs with 20-25 minutes to go?

Jozy is still the best striker we have and he should start. I haven't liked how AJ played the last 2 games. Wood put the ball in the back of the net in his limited chances that he got. He's coming on as a sub for Jozy if it were up to me.

If Morris doesn't play, in some capacity, in every Gold Cup match then I'll be very upset. He was unlucky to not score vs Germany with the outside of his foot. How many players do we have in our pool that can hit that shot? Maybe 2? Him and Clint.
If you don't love it, leave it, USA #1
