Don't think he married a Brit, but he's been there for, what, 20+ years now. More than enough time to pick up the accent. And you'd have to think a keeper is/should pick up the accent quick. He spends every day yelling at people for hours - he better be doing it in their language if he wants them to follow.

And I'll take the opinions as long as their not too crazy, in your face, and solipsistic (had to get that one in, Dolcem) like Lalas tends to do.

Didn't think about it that way, i thought about McBride, Dempsey and Boca who if not captain, held a leadership position within the team, but in the case of Freidel he's a keeper who has to keep almost like a dialogue with his defense. Individuals who undoubtedly were English, or Europeans with the English accent

Which is still his opinion. Now I can tell you after living in San Antonio and Texas my whole life there is also truth in what he says.

After watching this game again, one of the big takeaways from this game for me is Danny Williams. I thought he anchored and protected the Dline very well. He showed moments of a destroyer - esque player, and for the most part was cool and collected in posession. He looked like the type of player that could add to what MB does in the midfield. I feel like a lot of the time even if MB is playing higher up he has to draw back to find and facilitate possession. Dwill showed that he has the potential to anchor that midfield and spray balls around while maintaining possession. I was very pleased.

It's a bigoted opinion even if there is truth to it or not!

The title of this thread is "USMNT V SWITZERLAND." What in the world is going on?

I agree D williams played well. I also thought Zardes showed promise-he was at least active, his touch will hopefully get better-frankly I believe he will be better than Jozy very soon-I like the two strikers, if Z touch can improve it would be nice to see him up top with Rubin with Dempsey (for now) underneath

I was very pleased with this game overall.

After being very frustrated that there was no game plan or idea of how the team wanted to play against Denmark this was far far better. The group seemed to know what they were doing, they were ok not to possess which is typically the case away against a good team and they created more good looks than Switzerland which was great to see.

Thought Bradley and Williams worked great together. I like Bedoya wide, he offers a lot and plays a lot like Donovan did when he was on his game. We're still lacking another quality attacking player to play left and I have no idea who that should be.

Bradley as the CAM only works with 2 forwards ahead of him and I still prefer him deeper but it works ok in a 442 defensive posture. I thought Jozy was bad and clearly frustrated by no calls and bad traps and clearly let it get out of hand, sad to see and hopefully a learning experience for him. Zardes looks like he has an idea of what he wants to do but can't quite pull it off yet. His first touch is poor but I do appreciate his work rate.

Thought this was the best Chandler has looked offensively, he was fantastic but he really has terrible defensive instincts and loses where he is on the field often, scary scary stuff to see him raising his hand for off sides on the goal when he was standing next to the goal haha.

But this game gave me some hope, which is an improvement over the Denmark Game.

Another away game on USA soil against Mexico, should be fun!

I finally had the chance to the watch the game today and caught up on this looney thread. I came to share my thoughts but you pretty much nailed every point. Well done.

Bedoya deserves a lot of respect for his performance. I thought Beodya was man of the match and I just read that he played the game while sick. He took a lot of flak on here during the World Cup but he's been one of our best players ever since.

Man it's getting so old seeing all of these Mexico fans in U.S. stadiums. I'll admit I can't stand it. It drives me crazy.

i guarantee most of these Mexico fans at arrowhead were born in the US.

It's also going to drive me crazy to see the Alamodome at least 60% Mexico fans.

I have no problem with Mexican fans in the US. I just feel bad for the fans in Mexico. Azteca is a great home field advantage so it's sensible for El Tri to play competitive matches in Mexico City. I understand that they make a fortune filling NFL stadiums for Friendlies but I think that they should play at least half their "home" Friendlies in Mexico. Mexicans are deeply passionate about their team and those who don't happen to live in or near Mexico City really never have a chance to see the national team play live.

I am really happy with how the US handles their home scheduling. We have Columbus for our WCQ against Mexico and spread the love for all other matches.

I'm with 2 tone. I can't stand it. Luckily the California drought will send them all packing for the homeland once we run out of water in two years!

I think USSF needs to take a larger cut for them playing here...

Now you know why they never do S**t at the World Cup. The next world cup is in Russia and Klinsmann has already had several games in Europe while mexico keeps playing mediocre teams in the US.
