My lineup vs Switzerland.. 4-1-3-2

--- Jozy - Johansson -

- Ibarra - Bradley - Green -

----- Williams ----

Johnson - Brooks - Ream - Alvarado -

----- Yarbrough ---

Subs - Yedlin, Bedoya, Zardes, Rubin, Shea, Chandler.

Give Ibarra a last shot to see if he belongs or not. Bring Johnson back to LB. Have a new look in the back line. Let's see how green does and give him the start.

Is your backline flipped? Brooks almost always plays LCB and Alvarado is typically on he right side. I like Fabian at RB but we haven't seen Yedlin play LB.

I say Klinsmann goes with a 4-2-3-1:

---------Jozy--------
Fabian-----Bedoya-----Arjo
------Morales----Bradley---
Shea----Brooks----orozco---Yedlin
-----------Yarbrough-----

--Jozy--

Fabian-- Bedoya--Yedlin

--Morales---Bradley--

Shea--Brooks--Orozco--Chandler

----Rimando----

Best time to put Bedoya centrally right under Jozy

Morales showed well in limited time. Hope he can get a start

dont read this if you cant handle reasonable criticism of JK - which, sadly, seems to apply to a lot of folks here

http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2015/03...

the sky is not falling and nobody thinks there are simple tweaks that will transform this team into world beaters...

there is simply a lot of evidence that we have a coach who is just not really getting it right

I still remember when JK was hired he promised an attacking attractive style of play no matter the results. Seems He hasn't delivered on any of that. No attractive style. No Offense. Average Results. Honestly US soccer dropped more With JK than with Bradley. No big change at all even the Dual nationals he Recruited don't make much of a difference. But yet Some people still protect him and think he will one day win something for USA and no Gold cups don't count. Some JK fanatics are Delusional and to ignorant to see the Big picture. He will never be a great coach just average, thats why he was let go from Bayern And Germany.

Two partnerships that everyone seems to have that I feel did not gel. Or had a lot of rough edges. 1) morales bradley
There were a few times that they were bumping into each other. Both wer played very deep which obviously led to trouble in our mid. No one stepped. In a 442 someone has to apply the press. And even saw Altidore drop back all the way down to our 18. Not the biggest altidore fan and I thought he played well yesterday. I want to see three mids or someone like Danny W who has shown he is not afraid to step forward. Morales played well. But obviously bradley is in the line up. Just didn't gel in my opinion.
2) altidore arjo
Yes, the combination got the goal. But out of the entire time they shared the field, both seemed invisible. I think I remember one occasion where there was link up play out of the few times we had the ball but is that really enough to see it again?

I understand if you argue they need time to get to know each other but it just didn't seem like we would bear much fruit from this

4231
-------jozy
Johnson Rubin bedoya
--Williams bradley
Shea--------Yedlin
---brooks orozco
---Yarbrough
Or
433
Ibarra Rubin green
----bedoya
Williams bradley
Shea-------Yedlin
---brooks orozco
----Yarbrough

I'd prefer to start with the 433 then sub our way over to the 4231

To be honest the USMNT doesn't need to be world beaters at the beginning of a WC cycle.

Klinsmann has the resume to continue on as the head coach: 2013 Gold Cup winner, longest winning streak at 12 games ever in the USMNT program in 2013, finishing a top of the HEX with 22 points( tying Bruce Arena's 2006 USMNT HEX total), and getting out of arguably the Group of Death.

The USMNT isn't going to fail at the Gold Cup. The USMNT has 9 Gold Cup championship game appearances since 1991, that's two more than Mexico. The USMNT has played in the last 5 Gold Cup Championship games---winning 3 of them. And they soundly beat Panama in January, a team I would argue is the 4th best CONCACAF team at the present.

I am not a Klinsiphile nor am I a Klinsihater. The man has his quirks. He has his ups and downs as a coach. He has his strengths and weaknesses as a coach. But I say let the man continue to build this program. The ultimately goal is to qualify for the WC.

A successful WC is not built on winning friendly games at the beginning of a WC cycle.

Klinsmann clearly stated after the WC that he was going to experiment with bringing in new players and changing up formations. He stated that this was his primary goal until the summer friendlies before the Gold Cup. There are plenty of friendlies in May and June that will help mold this team and get them all synched up going into the Gold Cup.

Losing sucks. I overreacted to the loss yesterday. I am a fan it happens. But when I sit back and think about things then this is my conclusion: A coach can learn more about his players and team with a loss. I would rather see the team lose close to good European opposition in hostile territory than have the team beat average opposition at home. Yes they didn't play well. But they had a grand total of 2 training sessions together before the game. They scored two goals. With a full week of training together I am almost positive the team will play much better against Switzerland. A good showing against Switzerland will help calm the nerves a bit.

Tell me what did Arena and Bradley win the USMNT besides Gold Cups?

For one Arena made a quater finals. JK out in round of 16. Bradley made the finals of a confederations cup and we have yet to see if JK does or even qualifies for it. But our future looks dimmer now than what it did when we had those coaches. On top of that we played good Soccer now we just stink. Yeah he got a few big wins but he hasn't delivered on his goals and promises. As a matter of fact our youth teams have never been this bad since he came in and he is our technical director to so if our youth teams fail should be blame. Anyways if some people think he should be our long term coach they are delusial because we will never get anywhere with him in charge that's the reality of it.

But I thought you said that winning is ultimately what counts? So Arena and Bradley have done exactly the same as Klinsmann.

Can't have your cake and eat it too, kid.
