Clint Dempsey will now miss both games with a hamstring injury.

Here is my starting 11 against Denmark:

--ArJo-Altidore--
Fabian--Bradley(C)--Bedoya
---Williams--
Shea-Brooks--Orozco-Chandler
----Rimando--

Subs: Garza, Yedlin, Ream, Morales, Rubin, Zardes

Blessing in disguise because I desperately want to see ArJo and Altidore start a game together.

Prediction:

US 1 Denmark 1

I think that's exactly or not too far off of what JK will use but I would like to see Bradley where you put Williams and Bedoya where you put Bradley. Slot Zardes on the right.

It would be interesting to see how Klinsmann lines up, he's been of late, treating the base midfielders as someone who should be able to provide creativity as well as bite. So seeing Bradley there wouldn't be so much of a stretch, but I just can't see him, after initial overtures to releasing Bradley from the holding roles, to suddenly confine him to that role now. Having Bedoya there though, will ensure that he will back track when Bradley gets too far ahead, as he has a pretty good workrate.

Unlikely to happen, but I'd prefer Zardes paired with Jozy instead of ArJo.

Also, how did Brek Shea at LB get so much momentum. I'm still very skeptical about it. Would prefer Yedlin no question.

---Arjo --- Jozy-

---- Rubin ---

-Fabian -- Bradley -- Zardes -

Garza - Brooks - Alvarado - Chandler-

----- Rimando --

4-3-1-2. That would be my line up. Let the kid play in Dempsey's position.

Subs - Shea, Yedlin, Williams, Ream, Morales, Bedoya.

USA 2 Denmark 1.

Next game vs Switzerland i think yarbrough goes full 90.

Clint Dempsey will not play tomorrow. He's out with a hamstring injury !!

See this is why Klinsmann is a shit coach, even if another hamstring injury isn't klinsmann's fault (wink wink) then he should be on the phone calling in another replacement!

Andrew Wooten could be there in 2 hours on flight!

Shea or Garza will be the LB. Only natural LB's we have. Shea has been playing well for Orlando City there. I think JK likes him as he provides nice attack over there. He is looking for guys who can pass and provide something in the way of an attack. Whether it's passing from the back or providing a target for set pieces (Brooks).

Early look at 2018 based on what we know of JK.
GK-Guzan
LB-Shea or Garza (I'd give the nod to Shea at the moment
CB-Brooks
CB-Besler or Packwood (I'd like to see Packwood)
RB-Chandler or Yedlin (I like what Yedlin brings with his pace...game changer)
CM-Bradley
CM-Diskerud or Gil or Zelalem (looking like Diskerud at the moment)
RM-Fabian or Gyau or Zardes (lot of options here)
LM-Bedoya or Green or Arriola (lot of inexperienced options here)
FW-Dempsey
FW-Altidore

I think there are 4 things you can count on at this point baring injuries. Altidore, Dempsey, Bradley and Brooks will have major roles. I think Guzan is the favorite at GK and I think he'll win it, but not quite a given.

Other than that we have a lot of options over the next 3 years (yeah it's already been close to a year since the World Cup).

I'd like to at some point see what this team (below) could do on the field together:
GK-Cropper
LB-Shea
CB-Brooks
CB-Packwood
RB-Yedlin
DM-Bradley
LM-Green
CM-Zelalem
RM-Zardes
FW-Dempsey
FW-Altidore

There is no need to call in a replacement. The US is covered at striker. Altidore, ArJo, Rubin, and Zardes.

Zardes will be used at RW

On a random note. I haven't missed a "live" US Soccer match since 2009

Zardes may be used at RW but he is usually a striker, so the USMNT is covered at Striker. The USMNT is covered at RW if Zardes moves to striker. There is no need to call in Wooten.

Says the guy who wants Bradley paired with zelalem. The guy hasn't played first team soccer. Until we see him get consistent minutes then he can be in the conversation. I would put pulisic/flores/sonora ahead of zelalem at the moment since their in a better development environment.

I think your things you can count on arent as certain as you think. Jozy abd Bradley have young guys breathing down there throats. I'd bet more expect Dempsey to be phased out after next years copa then stay with the team.

I'm more inclined to say the only sure things are brooks, fab, and Chandler as barring injury those three will be in their prime and playing either bundesliga soccer or another top tier league.

Silliness and nonsense. Zelalem is the only one of the four who's consistently playing u21 and the only one of the four who's been capped with the 1st team. Look, I'm not saying Zelalem is ready for the senior squad, but he's every bit the prospect as the three you've mentioned.
