I have not been able to watch any games, just that elbow highlight from Pfeffer.. I will try ti catch the LA game via phone stream. Does anybody have that MLS live deal? I am really considering it because my weekend has been boring without soccer. Thanks beforehand.

Why does Cobi Jones sound like a guy who might have played a little high school soccer when he does color commentary?

It's every- every time he's in the booth.
He is not a smart person.

Unfortunately this is the same for about every commentator we have on TV. I think it's because when they were growing up, there wasn't really soccer on TV or commentators to listen to. The soccer IQ of even our players is incredibly low, even for those who made it to Europe (look at Lalas). And not only do they seem to know nothing about soccer, none of them really even have good voices, either. They have that annoying sort of whiney, overly white-sounding voice you hear from the guys on the radio calling local high school sports. Cobi included. But some kid growing up now, who religiously watches the Premier League on TV with good English commentators, will some day grow up to be someone worth listening to. I think we'll have to wait until then.

Cobi is nearly as bad as his partner in the both. The guy that sounds like he is desperately trying to call a football or baseball game, yet the players on the field are playing some weird foreign game called soccer. He actually sounds like he has never watched a soccer match in his life, until he got the gig for galaxy games because there weren't any openings for a football or baseball announcer! I give alot of these sports announcers props for extending themselves into soccer, but it is excruciatingly painful to hear some american announcers try and use the same cadence and rhythm to call a soccer game as they would a football of baseball game.

Well, the guy who did play-by-play for that same Galaxy game was an outrageous embarassment. But when a former player like Cobi is that bad, it's notable.

I will stick my neck out and say that I think Twellman is pretty good. He says useful, honest things and doesn't try to push the level of the game past the occasion. If he's doing color on a regular season game, he sounds like it's a regular season game.

Did anyone see Avaya stadium???
It's horseshoe shaped- it has basically no seats/stadium behind one goal...
I don't get it.

Very dissapointing crowd for the Red bulls opener. Seems like the NYCFC is starting to take over the red bulls fan base. Specially if the red bulls don't get great results this year they will lose more fans. Just tuning in from the classico what a great game it was could of been more goals there.

Not going to lie, I could be converted into a Rapids fan if Mastroeni were to dress in overalls and a green puffy hat.

Haha, major diss...I used to hear that all the time spewed between my youth team coaches when they joined the end of practice scrimmage.
