The October friendlies was going going to be the perfect chance to do so. Could have cap tied him, Gonzalez, offered Toljan the chance to be tied, and do the same with Robinson. But now because of that egg we are going to be stuck with a bunch of under achievers.

Players can't be cap tied in friendlies. Has to be an official match. The earliest any can be cap tied is the 2019 Gold Cup.

Yeap and that was my problem with getting 1 point in September. If they had gotten 4 or 6 points they would have all but wrapped up qualifying for October. Could have used that T&T game as a cap tying event for Gonzalez, CCV, etc. I should have said qualifiers my bad.

Check out this assist from a CB. Yeah that is more than impressive at any level.

Food for thought for those who thought he could not play as a DM.

I could easily see him in that role in the Azteca making an intercepting then playing a killer ball to launch a quick counter.

CCV isn't as technical or as rangey as D Will period.

Doesn't have to be rangey, just able to read the game well. He will disrupt play a lot better than D Will.

It was a good pass if it was an intended through ball but I️ think his midfielder dummied his pass. Maybe though! Regardless, seems like he's doing great at Sheffield.

I️ think the striker was pointing at the midfielder for his dummy after the goal too.

While CCV could be fielded as a CDM, I see no reason to push him into the role when we have a number of options emerging who can fulfill the need....Gonazlez, McKennie, Adams, Acosta, Jones, Canouse, etc.... there's 2 years before any of these kids have to play a meaningful game. More than enough time for them to develop, gain experience, & build chemistry.
If in 18 months, or so, we don't have a manager and/or an idea of what our player pools strengths & weaknesses are than we can start talking about shifting players from their primary positions and try to plug whatever holes we may have. Till then there is no point in speculating.

As long as he plays CB for Poechettino keep him there.

He is a good passer though.

if he's a great passer thats even more reason to keep him at CB, imo.

great passing is needed from ALL positions...and passing is something many USMNT CB's havent been the best at...to the detriment of the team.

definitely think all players need to be as well-rounded as possible...if all are great passers then the likelihood of being in an involuntary 25% possession bunker are slim to nil....which would be a very good thing. and the usmnt will likely be able to possess against anyone.

Was recalled from his loan from Sheffield. This is not good for CCV

hard to say but here are a couple thoughts:

The negative view:
He has struggled lately and thus they think training with them would be better for him-the downside of course he will not get game mins

Positive view:
they see potential in him, and want him to get some fill in some mins here and there, and get ready as they see a future for him next yr should a couple other people leave
