He went the full 90 for Spurs U-21's against Man United's U-21's, and got rave reviews. Article stating that he shut down Falcao and almost had the game winner with his header smashing off of the crossbar.
If there is one current U-20 player I definitely see making the USMNT's 2018 WC squad, it's CCV.
Don't be surprised if England pursues CCV hard core after he plays with the US U-20's at this years U-20 WC. But he also seems really happy in the USA set-up. I firmly believe the USA has the upper hand on this dual national. England was never really scouting CCV, something he has stated numerous times while the US began scouting him heavily 9 months ago.
I bet England aren't happy that the US scouted him under their noses.

No doubt he should have his own thread. "Big Brother" Yedlin surely has told him the greatness and potential of the USMNT. And the ability to jump into the first team if you have talent. The fact his father was a basketball player shows when CCV goes for a header- not sure I've seen him lose an aerial challenge yet. Mauricio Pochettino is the best coach for youth development he could ask for-- I can't wait to watch the u20 World Cup and a big reason is CCV. Looking at Spurs backline I see no reason within a year or two he couldn't break into the first team like stones has done at Everton at a young age.

When people say chris paul could have played soccer, I feel like Cameron Vickers carter would be his body type or some small guard like that. A lebron would most definitely be a CB in our setup unless we got into some HEAVY DUTY indoor soccer free sytle stuff where we started making our own hybrid positions like center center back
(intensely false 9, he lines up at CF but he's really a CB)
Hope England doesn't step in and try to persuade him to switch. But I believe if the u20s are as successful at the WC as I think they will be, then Cameron will see where his future will be brightest.
The upcoming trip to England will be a good contest, playing England's u20's will give him and us some answers.

I agree with 2tone that CCV sees a path for himself to WC 2018, an it's with the USA not England. With that in mind, as the u20 WC and gold cup are staggered, could we see him cap tied this summer with some token appearance against one of the lesser teams in a group game??
If he would of been born just a couple of Hours later He would be playing with the Sub 17's right now. Just imagine how big he would look next to some kids.

Hilarious thing is that English papers were raving about him too. yet Tab and others were scouting him out far before. They'll say he isnt good enough even though he's a rising young prospect who can hold his own against adults and is built like a tank.

He gives us a chance to win this u20 World Cup in my opinion. Rubio Rubin is our star player for sure, but having CCV is just as important, if not more so, especially when you remember how outmatched poor Jovan Torre was last time.

Nah, lets not rush him..
He will be a star at the u20 WC along with Rubio and Hyndman. I can easily see him being a starter in 2018, the way he's developing.
I have to say I believe we can make it to the final in New Zealand.

Nah. I don't see any U-20 player pulling double duty. It's just to much soccer in a little amount of recovery time.
For me it's far more likely to CCV with the u-23 team for Olympic qualifying come October.
By 2018 only: Brooks, Besler, Alvarado, Gonzalez, Packwood, CCV & EPB will really be in contention for CB. Birnbaum/O'Neil/Zimmerman/Miazga will be the next tier of options in the event Alvarado & CCV are snatched up by Other National Teams.
Jones is only a stop gap at CB in order to extend his continued contributions to the USMNT Camp (Experience, Mentoring, etc.). He'll fall out of the picture after the Super Copa.
Ream, regardless of his play in the Championship, is still Older, and has lower potential worth.
Between the U20 WC and Olympic qualifiers we'll see who (among CCV, EPB, Packwood, & O'Neil) will be ready to truly contend for a 2018 WC spot.

OK, so everyone is blowing CCV. Is he still growing? If so, then, fuck, I';ll jump on the bandwagon sending him to Russia (ugh, it makes me ill just to say Russia. FIFA & IOC - what a bunch of fucks).
