Anybody following the Cricket World Cup? I got into cricket during the last world cup. I like T20 and ODI a lot but Test cricket is bull shit.

ESPN has really been promoting the World Cup but bizarrely they are trying to charge $99 for the World Cup online package. If they would just throw this on ESPN3 they could attract some interest.

They still have no idea what they're talking about whatsoever and it makes their soccer coverage look amazing. A few days ago Sports Center had the headline "New Zealand narrowly escapes" when New Zealand absolutely trounced Scotland. They couldn't have gotten this any more wrong. It's rare to find a bigger blowout.

Sports Center thought it was close because if you look at the run total New Zealand only scored a few more runs but to contextualize this in baseball terms in cricket rather than alternating which team bats between top and bottom of innings one team bats until they hit 50 overs (in ODI) or are all out (10 wickets) and then the other team bats. There is no alternating between the teams. It would be like playing all of the Top of the innings consecutively in baseball and then playing all of the bottom of the innings consecutively.

So Scotland was all out in the 36th over and New Zealand surpassed their run total in the 24th over. Again in baseball terms it would be like New Zealand winning the game in the bottom of the 4th with no need to bat the 5-9th inning because the game was over.

Moral of the story is that Sports Center truly hasn't got a clue.

Got the package for $99, the HD quality is great for laptops, ipad/iphone, but not for 60" tv. when you airplay. I am India supporter, we have had a great start thumping Pakistan.
Still love the test cricket as I watched Ind v Aus on Willow TV HD.

Ireland has been surprisingly good, they would be really great if England stops poaching their players.

NZ wanted to hurry up and get the small total, however, they started losing wickets very quick and got cautious. NZ could probably win the WC.

Likewise, I am a big India fan. Indian colleagues got me into the sport and Yuvraj was having himself a game in the first game that I followed last World Cup. It's a bit sad that Yuvraj isn't on the team this year but he's had a crazy last four years with his cancer battle and whatnot. Although he just got sold for big bucks in the IPL auction.

Are you an IPL fan? I am a Mumbai Indians fan. I like how they stole Cleveland's nickname My colleagues are Chennai Super Kings fans so we've had some good ol' banter over the past few years.

I like T20 because I have a short attention span and it's exciting but it definitely favors the batsman. In my opinion ODI is the perfect balance of skilled batsmen vs skilled bowlers. It's the ideal strategic battle as you can't just smash it for six (or try to) like you can in T20.

Besides India I also support Sri Lanka to a lesser extent which of course strange for an Indian fan but Lasith Malinga is a badass bowler (and a Mumbai Indian).

Yeah I'm an India fan as well. Last world cup I had a girl from India who worked for me and got me hooked on the sport. I love Test Cricket! its the ultimate test of endurance especially if you have great teams.

Yeah I don't understand this whole $99 crap. No way am I paying for that.

I did not expect that three of us would be following this tournament and I like that we're all India fans. We have good taste in national teams.

Also I'm noticing a trend of being converted to cricket/India by Indian colleagues. They sure sell the sport a whole lot better than their English counterparts.

New Zealand is owning England right now. 8 wickets on 30 overs. They are bowling crazy good right now.

And Southee with 7 wickets himself! 123 all out with a 3.69 run rate. Yikes!

Ouch, that should be painful for England, hot knife through butter. McCullum 77 off of 25 balls is insane. 74 runs from boundries.
