Anybody watching the WNT vs France? I have to give France and Lorient a ton of credit, they wanted a sell out crowd so they sold tickets for 5 euros. Great decision.

...and they got a result out of it.

I wish this WWC wasn't being played on turf. I don't think it's acceptable, and FIFA would never let it happen for the men..... right?

I don't think I'm going to watch.

I agree about turf. It's an embarassment for our region really. Are there any other countries where professional teams play on turf or is it just a US and Canada thing?

In Japan the Sapporo dome switches between turf for baseball and grass for soccer to ensure that the game is played the right way.

The turf is a bummer, probably the last time it will ever happen. What is funny is the comment that Ellis made about the importance of playing France on turf so her players could experience what it's like. What?! She doesn't think the nats players have ever played on college turf or training field turf.

Not a big fan of Ellis at all... her line ups are strange and current team performance is poor... but she's just the place holder keeping the status quo for the old guard....midfield for that team is a huge problem.

With these recent SKC-USWNT weddings it raises the question whose babies will be more talented: Dwyer-Leroux or Carrasco-Morgan?

If they have boys how long does it take SKC to lay the homegrown player tag on them?

Why? It caters to the casual fan that's in it for the euphoria. And if fans want to be entertained the 2011 WC game against Brazil and the 2012 Olympic game against Canada are as good as it gets.

1) "The Men Lose, The Women Win" narrative
2) The bar text that said "AGAIN!?"
3) That transition at 0:35 where JJones turns into Alex Morgan.
4) Alex Morgan-sploitation in general.

Abby Wambach has decided to not to play in the NWSL so that she can dedicate all of her focus to preparing for the World Cup.

This is insane to me. Why take such a long break from competition?

I am a big fan of Megan Rapinoe, what a talent. Could we get a male equivalent of her for the MNT?

Not a good first half, but they rounded into form in the second half.

Good win.

That Nigerian team has a ton of pace by the way.

You're right that Fabian is probably the closest we have. His laser to Zardes was beautiful (even if it came from the right side). I still like him best at outside back. I've been vocal on here about Fabian at RB but I can be persuaded into the Fabian for LB camp.

I don't get the hype around Thompson, he hasn't looked impressive to me. I'd take Rapinoe over him for the MNT. They are the same size!
