He's not going to choose El Salvador.

Not only would it kill any WC chances, it would likely kill any chances he has of playing in the Gold Cup or the Hex.

Over half the El Salvadorian team was banned permanently last year due to match fixing. They are an embarrassment and a joke. I don't even think El Salvadorians (not just dual nationals with options) want to play for El Salvador. It's probably best not to play international soccer if that's your only option.

Flores knows this.

Per other close sources he still hasn't closed the door on El Salvador yet, but he is committed to USA. And since all that Match Fixing, and around Half the Team Banned including their top players i Doubt he chooses them, But now at these times it will be extremely difficult for him to Break trough in the mnt, Specially making a World cup. I believe he just turned 18 or later this year, so that would make him eligible for league cup matches, maybe a game day 18 appearance. Who knows maybe he makes his first team debut before seasons end.

I KNOW RIGHT!! He might make his debut sooner than we think. Are the rules in Germany if you turn 18 THAT season you aren't allowed in league play? I know that rule exists in other leagues. Like the first year of eligibility for him to be on a game day roster might be next year if they have that restriction.

He turns 18 next month. Then he can play with the reserves and other games. Definitely will be exciting.

But as much as El Salvador begs and pleads he won't choose them.

That's exciting, I definately can't wait to see him play for the first team, Klopp is really high on this kid, and in the end that's all that matters.

Cant wait for the 2015 Sub 20 World Cup assuming they qualify. On paper the team looks awesome but is all about how you perform on the field. Just hope all those players are available for the qualifiers, and their clubs releases them. The more they play together the better they will be come the sub 20 WC.

Also not sure how the rules work in Germany, But i know next season he will have a great chance of getting first team action minutes.

Mr. Flores turns 18 today, ....

Bayern clinched league...

Borussia should concentrate now on Champions League progress, meaning their top players will get rested more for those games..

Does anyone feel Junior will be accelerated in the next couple months?

Depends. That's why I'm cautiously optimistic about him and Green. Bayern and Dortmund are focused on UCL. But they need league games to prepare. They could get sub appearances(Green especially) but I'll wait to see if they even make the bench.

Flores will be with the youth teams and if he is lucky he can one day get to II team. Green will be with II until summer (per Green quoting to Grant Wahl).

That's good. Hopefully he continues to play well for Dortmunds youth teams. I Wouldn't be surprised if he is included in Dortmunds first team pre-season camps in the summer.

Steve Goff reporting that El Salvador will approach Junior about making the one time switch. Couldn't fault him if he chose to do it at this point. Hasn't been seeing the pitch much for BVB II nor the USYNT. Change of scenery in both departments might do him some good, although I would be gutted to see a fellow DC-area native leave the US setup.

if I were Flores I'd switch. Doubt he ever gets in the mix with US consideing all the young midfielders coming through. Also El Salvador seems to be trending in the right direction. Looked decent in the Gold Cup (only loss was 1-0 to jamaica). Only loss in WCQ was 3-0 to Mexico. Two huge games against Honduras for them as if they win both they'll pretty much have a winner advances match vs Canada in April (assuming Canada doesnt pull off the upset vs mexico next month)

Wow. People at first were all saying he is fantastic. Better than Green. The next Magico Gonzalez. Now some want him to change just because he's lacked playing time. Green has had his chances, flores should get his.. Maybe it's because he is not half german.
