Well played.

He'll be fine. If he had to leave because of regulations and not skill, he will have a plethora of suitors. I'm not worried.

But the thing is most of these kids don't have anyone knowledgeable advising them. How many times have we seen even our best players made idiotic decisions regarding their careers? Jozy Altidore went to bottom-feeder EPL teams twice! Agudelo declined an offer from Werder Bremen so he could play in England (even though getting a work permit was going to be a long shot) and then ended up back in the MLS. Freddy Adu decided to play for DC United rather than Inter's youth system. Luis Gil opted for Real Salt Lake instead of Arsenal.

It wouldn't even surprise me if Lederman decided to play for Stoke's youth academy because they're English, and then end up back in the states after being unable to adapt to playing rugby.

Can someone familiar with these laws tell us what Lederman's options are? Can he play for another team in Spain? Ideally he'd head to Valencia or Sevilla. Sporting Lisbon would be an excellent choice as well. If not, Ajax or Arsenal. But I'm not holding my breath.

Should have joined the Galaxy academy. My guess he hopes to get back to Europe after the 2017 U-17 cycle.

+1. Love me an American at Pool. Maybe one of our crappy CBs. Anyone is better than Lovren.

Lol....yeah, he was really good at Lyon and Southampton, don't know what his problem is. I want Sakho to start.

I don't pay attention to the youth squad. So until he's ready for the 18 every match then nah

I'm confused on the rules here...I thought he had to leave because of the transfer ban applied to Barca? Was he not allowed to play elsewhere in Europe (or South America, for that matter)?

From what I read, the transfer ban made him ineligible to play games for Barca youth teams. He could practice, just not play games. Im not sure if he could have been loaned or transferred to another team as there are against U17 transferring to other countries. I believe his parents would have had to move and take up residency somewhere else before he'd be allowed to transfer there meaning he'd still lose development time.

I think as said above he'll go to Bradenton and go back to Europe as an 18 year old

Yeah, I forget about him because he's playing with the U18s...and those games are 5am games here. Too early for me.

You miss some fun games, our youth squads are top 2 in England.
