So Alvarado spoke and said he's turned down US callups in hope to join Mexico. What does everyone think of this? He already holds dual citizenship so playing in US friendlies would not have cap tied him so its much more of a slap in the face then when say Green, or Aron waited awhile.

Doesnt he know that given the state of CBs he could have climbed the ladder fairly quickly if he became a starter in MX next year (got his first start this season, seems to be 4th on their depth chart). He'll be 27 when the world cup starts so this is probably his only chance to be a starter at a world cup, or at least his best chance. With the US busy schedule you'd think he'd jump at the chance. Will be interesting to see if he's on the Mexico Copa or Gold Cup roster next year.

He said that report was false and hes still very willing towards a US callup. Its shaky at best though. But if he starts producing for America, he'll be noticed quickly.

I remember like two years ago he stated that he would prefer to play for the US.

But he isn't even a starter on that America backline , yet. Until he really breaks into the team on a consistent basis, I wouldn't worry about what comes out of the Mexican media circles concerning Alvarado.

Well you have torres and gomez for tigres. Torres has been playing very well all year won't be surprised to see him back in the mix for next year, heck even gomez considering our foward struggles right now.

I'd would like to see VA at CB.

I've never cared for Matt Besler and Gonzalez limited himself by staying in MLS. Too bad he got injured by Chandler while on trial in Germany. I still think Omar needs to go to Europe because he's a waste of a DP slot.

When is the game the America game?

He can play either RB or LB. The USMNT is fine at RB so if he were to get called up and accept a USMNT call-up, I hope Klinsmann does it with the thought of using him as a LB. Right now we have Garza at LB and that's about it.

Jurgen will play him at CB only because that's what we need. Jurgen doesn't care what a player plays as for his club (if history is any guide).

Don't think Alvarado will be an upgrade or over Besler, Gonzo, Brooks at CB or be even as good there. Unless he starts playing there consistently for America he might have a shot, and lastly he has yet to choose a national team USA or Mexico.

Mexico coach Miguel Herrara has stated that he has no intention of calling up Alvarado anytime soon. He stated that other players are ahead of him.

Looks like the USMNT is in pole position in calling him up.
