A little surprised Boyd wasn't back in the Germany section.

Anyways, Boyd scored two goals today.

Looks like he is ready to put all sorts of pressure on Jozy as well.

That said I haven't seen him this season. Does he still look raw or does he look a bit more polished? I know he just got back from injury but obviously his next step in development is to get to the German top flight whether that is promotion with Leipzig or transferring to a club in the 1. Bundesliga. He has all the tools but he must continue to develop and add to his game. He is strong and has a great aerial game. Now he needs to add a shot and a bit more ability to create his own shot. But he has the talent to be the #1 striker in our pool.

So good to see Boyd and ArJo score goals again. that would put pressure on Jozy to perform and once Jozy moves to Lille and starts scoring goals(hopefully) we will be in a good position for the gold cup.

jozy wont go from captain to all of a sudden not playing. it's going to take a lot of boyd or aj goals to unseat him. and if jozy moves in janurary and plays regularly then boyd and aj have no chance.

Boyd injured the same knee he injured earlier this season, he was taken off on a stretcher. Doesn't look good. Might not be a part of the USMNT for 9 months if it's confirmed that he has an ACL tear.

And it is. What shitty luck for a great dude like Boyd. Torn ACL and meniscus, Leipzig confirms.

Why do soccer players get injured so much?

I've actually never got hurt in any sport but I broke my ankle playing soccer in the street and couldnt walk for 1.5 years.

I just dont get it

Now there will be a hole open for: Zardes, Davies, Wood, Rubin to all compete for.

I think honestly in every professional sport or collegiate sport there is always going to be a fair bit of injures. I played college soccer and I got banged up quite a bit. In soccer you get injuries from contact from jumping for headers, getting your legs kicked out from under you. Plus in soccer your body especially your legs can twist into really awkward angles. If you are trying to shift your body when going full speed you can really get into some trouble. Most common injuries I got were a variety of leg injuries and those are usually the most common injuries soccer players get.

I've never been seriously injured. It's a weird thought for me too. I got a knock from some guy going in on my ankle studs up, but I still played. Gutted for Boyd. I was really excited about him being back in the picture. Here's to a Gyau-like recovery.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
